here we go again! get your standpipes in and double check the sump pumps before heading to work today. make sure the sumps, downspouts on gutters too, are not simply pumping water back into your sewer system.
personally, i dont think we need to worry about the river, although the hammond street dept has made thousands of sandbags in recent days just in case. far more likely isolated flooding could occur due to water main and sewer breaks that could be caused by a combination of rapid weather changes and variances in pressure in the underground infrastructure in recent and the next few days. this problem, although it would likely be small in terms of the number of houses effected, could occur anywhere at any time during the next few days. so be prepared, especially if your home sits on the low end of a block!
