At the dentist yesterday I read the US magazine about Bristol and Levi. It was ironic reading how happy they are knowing that before the magazine was out of circulation they would be apart. I tell my kids not to plan on falling in love for real before their mid-20s - before that too much can change (including the people involved).

Bristol Palin to get 14,000.00 to speak in Louisville on behalf of home for single mothers
Quote :
Palin, 19, will receive $14,000 to speak at a benefit at the Louisville Marriot Downtown on behalf of the Lifehouse, which was founded in 2007 and has operated in a brick house on Riedling Drive, a quiet street off Zorn Avenue.

Couldn't that 14,000 be used for something more productive? The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. A greedy bloodsucker just like her mother.

True, that could definitely be used for something better, but hell... at her age, I'd have taken $14,000 to talk about my failed relationships, too. Can't really fault her for that one.

Now if she bailed on her public responsibilities in order to do so...

From the author of the Vanity Fair article on Sarah Palin:
Quote :
"The
worst stuff isn't even in there," Michael Joseph Gross said on "Morning
Joe" Thursday. "I couldn't believe these stories either when I first
heard them, and I started this story with a prejudice in her favor. I
have a lot in common with this woman. I'm a small-town person, I'm a
Christian, I think that a lot of her criticisms of the media actually
have something to them. And I think she got a bum ride, but everybody
close to her tells the same story."In the profile, Gross paints Palin as an abusive, retaliatory figure with an extreme ability to lie."This is a person for whom there is no topic too small to lie about," he said. "She lies about everything."

How can anyone, conservative/Republican or otherwise, listen to this idiot speak and *not* want to shove pencils in their ears?

GOP Rep: 'Palin cost us control of the Senate'
Quote :
Republican Rep. Spencer Bachus told a local Chamber of Commerce group last week that the candidates backed by the Tea Party and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin may be to blame for the Republican Party's failure to take back control of the Senate in last week's midterm elections.

"The Senate would be Republican today except for states (in which Palin endorsed candidates) like Christine O'Donnell in Delaware," Bachus said, according to the Shelby County Reporter. "Sarah Palin cost us control of the Senate."

Former First Lady Barbara Bush To Sarah Palin: Stay In Alaska

Speaking alongside her husband, President George H. W. Bush, to Larry King in an exclusive interview, she delivered a doubled-edged critique of Sarah Palin–
Quote :
“She’s beautiful,” she’s very happy in Alaska, and I hope she’ll stay there.”

Some wonderful fun by Ed Brayton over at Dispatches from the Culture Wars:

Quote :
The website Conservatives4Palin (apparently named by Prince) offers a top ten list of reasons why Sarah Palin is qualified to be president. Here's all you need to know about that list: "Ten years volunteer work in the Parent-Teacher-Association" is second.

Makes you wonder what #3 is, doesn't it? "Two years pro-life advocacy." But this is my favorite part. Number five on the list is "Two and a half years governing the largest state in America." Of course, it's the smallest state by population (or very close to it). Apparently, governing empty land is valuable experience.

There's more, too...

So is she seriously gearing up for a Presidential run? What do you guys think? It looks like even conservatives are sick of her at this point and are just keeping her around for her popular appeal.

I think all we know right now is that she's doing everything she can to keep herself front and center and to appear as if it's a strong possibility like making sure she visits Iowa (twice) and South Carolina in her book tour. She will deliberately keep everyone guessing as long as she possibly can in order to keep the $$$ flowing.

I believe there is a movement on the right to throw her under the bus,but that might not make a difference with the loons that idolize her.

I didn't believe that I'd ever say this, but I think she is actually going to run. It's frickin' unbelievable, but I do expect her to do it. However, I still suspect that Romney will be the eventual Republican nominee.

hahaha Awesome.

Quote :
What man or mouse with a fully functioning human brain and a résumé as thin as Palin’s would flirt with a presidential run? It makes the political biography of Barack Obama look more like Winston Churchill’s, despite the fact that the 44th president breezed into the Oval Office as little more than a glorified state senator.

McCain choosing her as a running mate proved to me that he had completely lost his marbles; he was ever the chameleon, basing what he said and his policies on whomever he happened to be speaking to at that particular moment. Choosing Palin was such an obvious pander to disgruntled Hillary supporters... Worst. Decision. Ever. It is rather fun to watch everyone who thought she was the greatest thing since Reagan so quickly turn on her...

Here's to hoping she actually be the Republican nominee. Laughing

Once upon a time I had respect for Mccain. From the moment he chose Palin, right up to present day,he has shown that he will say or do anything to get elected.

I lost track here. Are you guys saying Palin is thinking she can be POTUS?

I know she's a "reload" and "gear it back up", outdoorswoman.. But so is my aunt in MO, still shooting deer, etc. A tough cookie, but if you confront her with facts, she runs away from the "truth".

My aunt isn't shy about telling others in the family she has more money than any of the "others" will ever have....but who cares. We all lead better lives than her. She never bought but stale bread, killed for meat, their grown kids, my cousins, when they visit my parents, can't believe the leftovers from the day before is pork-roast, mashed potatoes, veggies with dip and homemade buns. They recalled eating only burnt toast, etc.

My aunt reminds me of Sarah Palin. It's about money; not family.

Puts on a "show" that the kids "swallow".

I don't think anyone has to worry about her running or even if running, becoming a POTUS.

She's doing what she's doing for the money, and making a helluva lot more than the POTUS.

McCain picked her just to "showboat" and give an exclamation mark to his run.

McCain is past his time, and should resign and get out and enjoy his life.

Sarah is only smart in one area: garnering attention to get more money. Otherwise, they are on the same level as my aunt.

All the money in the world, yet behind those fake smiles, you can tell she neglected her children.

She will soon fade into the past. Actually, I'm sick of hearing her name.

Her daughter...I was embarrased for on the "Dancing of the Stars". She only got votes cuz it had to be rigged.

The whole family is going to take advantage of the spot-light without any real intentions of running for office.

Bunch of Baloney Family. I have no interest in them.

Oh there's plenty for Republicans to worry about. If she wins both the Iowa caucuses and then South Carolina, which she has good chance of doing, they are going to have to reckon with her and that's not going to be any fun for them.

I really, really, hope she's the Republican nominee. IMO,it would be the next best thing to having George W. Bush run for a 3rd term. She would bring down their entire ticket.

Shocked
Quote :
Palin pulled out the big guns to demonstrate her support for hunting -- her children. In explaining the origin of her children's names, she described: "Piper was named after Todd's airplane, the Piper Cub, which gets us to the hunting grounds... Bristol, Bristol Bay fishing grounds. Willow, a local sport-fishing stream. Trig, I pull the TRIG-ger. Track... I remember when we told my dad that his grandson was named Track, he said, 'Like TRACKing an elephant?'"

Anyone think we should start a new topic entitled "Did She Really Say That?" Very Happy Here's low information Barbie's take on the Egyptian crisis:
Quote :
"It's a difficult situation, this is that 3am White House phone call and it seems for many of us trying to get that information from our leader in the White House it it seems that that call went right to um the answering machine. And nobody yet has, no body yet has explained to the American public what they know, and surely they know more than the rest of us know who it is who will be taking the place of Mubarak and um, no, not, not real um enthused about what it is that that's being done on a national level and from dc in regards to understanding all the situation there in Egypt. And um, in these areas that are so volatile right now because obviously it's not just Egypt but the other countries too where we are seeing uprisings, we know that now more than ever, we need strength and sound mind there in the White House. We need to know what it is that America stands for so we know who it is that America will stand with. And um, we do not have all that information yet."

IMHO,The last thing the US needs to do is act as if we're influencing the outcome as to who would replace Mubarek.

J Stewart had his reporter at a state side rally of Egyptians. The reporter was interviewing protesters and sarcastically asked if the US will be picking the next president. The person being interviewed looked pretty upset.

Great quote from palin, what a dummy.
