The Hammond Times don't print anything whenever George Janiec gets pinched by the police. As a member of the Hammond School Board, this should be worthy of an article or two.

I heard something about the Scherrerville Police and Janiec with an intoxicated young girl but haven't heard about Highland. Maybe you are talking about Scherrerville instead of Highland.

talking to some people, it has occurred to me not many people really know much about ole george t. well its america and we really should make an informed decision come election day. so heres a few issues where he contrasts with mayor mcdermott, for you to consider.

college bound. mcdermott for, george t against...even though hes on the school board.george views the money as wasted and an attempt by the mayor to buy votes of parents of children.

charter school mcdermott for, george t against...although in theory george t likes charter schools because the governor does, george t does not like this particular charter school because he thinks hammond kids dont deserve to have a free opportunity to avoid the public school system that he is at least partly in charge of as a member of the school board. rather then improve the public schools so the kids dont want to leave. he wants to trap them there.
theres several more issues. but lets digest these few first. still 6 weeks to go before the polls close

Now you can see why Janiec has been so quiet as of late. Does he have a court date set yet? Bad timing for Janiec with the election being so close.

Was Janiec in jail ? If so, for how long ?

I think Georgie should get an award for running the all-time best stealth campaign. Not a peep out of him lately.

Meanwhile,I hear the donations are literally "rolling" in. Yep....pennies,nickles,dimes,any form of currency that you can stand up on it's side and roll.

Has he been sending out the same smear mail instead of campaign literature?

Guess who finally surfaced today? Janiec appeared on the least listened to WJOB program today,Tiger Fails,Hammond's very own version of Abbott and Costello. He spent about 20 minutes complaining but not offering any answers as usual.
How many calls were there? Well stand back,close your eyes,and what do you see?

I hope the 40 or 50 bucks he spent to sponsor his appearance didn't dent his huge political war chest too much.

The usual Hammond bashing and Mayor Tom is a bad man pretty much sums it up.

ok sparks in that incident your a bit off.

the man was a nieghbor of mine and fellow city employee. he stumbled upon a robbery was shot and shot back with his legally permitted weapon saving his own life and possibly that of another neighbor that was present. its believed he also struck the offender....although he did get away shortly there after when his getway partner showed up with a car.

either way i doubt hell come back into this neighborhood,...and i for one am glad as hell the guy shot back and hope the idiot thug tells his friends what they can expect if they come back to this neighborhood again.

as for janiec

debate what? he has yet to bring up a simple issue. look at his literature. what issue is there? even janiec cant bring up any specific disagreements with the mayor. just ambiguous concepts that any ignorant jamoke could throw at government officials without knowing any of the facts.

Oh, they'll come back with an automatic.

Our long nightmare is almost over. Janiec appeared for the last time with the 2 low-information stooges on the least listened to show on WJOB,which thankfully is going away very soon. No longer will we have to suffer through the the "really"s,"Wow"s,and "Oh for sure" that masquerades as a political candidate's interview.
No better way to sum up the show than how our friend "Freekey1" saw it and remarked in the chat room.

There was only ONE caller during his time on the air that apparently snuck in without being properly interrogated,screened,and vetted by George's minions. To noone's surprise Janiec refused to take the call. Yeah, tell us more about the "transparency" you want to bring to Hammond,Georgie?

Former GOP official accused of voting as Dem

GOP Chairman Dan Dernulc said Thursday his review of voting records indicates Janiec "pulled a D" in the May 6 primary. County elections officials also privately confirmed that. A voter's party preference is a public record in primary elections under Indiana's closed primary system and is frequently used to invalidate candidates whose affiliation is in doubt.

Eric Krieg, a Munster Republican, said he will challenge Janiec's credentials to attend Saturday's GOP state convention. Dernulc said he also as believes Janiec should be barred from the party event.

Krieg said he has heard rumors within party circles Janiec voted Democratic to qualify to run as a Democratic candidate for mayor next year.

Janiec, who twice ran as a Republican for mayor and served as GOP county vice chairman until last year, stated Thursday, "Krieg's challenge and comments are frivolous and specious."

Janiec wouldn't comment Thursday on how he voted last month, but said he considers himself a Republican in good standing and a valid delegate to Saturday's convention.

He said he plans to attend it and will fight any challenge to his party affiliation, which he said should rest on his election last month by Republican voters to be a delegate, his lifelong voting record and his party activities.

Janiec said he will be running for re-election to the School City of Hammond board, a nonpartisan post, not mayor.

Janiec ran for Hammond mayor in 2007 as a Republican and lost by fewer than 500 votes to incumbent Hammond Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr.

Janiec has been allied with a faction of the party that opposed Dernulc's election as party boss last year.

Krieg is acting to stop Democrats from infiltrating the local Republican Party and weakening it from within. Krieg said his 2012 campaign for county surveyor was undermined by an attack on his party loyalty by Janiec and his supporters.
