GOP Rep: “Our Goal Is To Bring Down Approval Numbers” For Dems

GOP Rep. Patrick McHenry, a key player in helping craft the Republican message, has offered an unusually blunt description of the Republican strategy right now.

McHenry’s description is buried in this new article from National Journal (sub. only):

Quote :

“We will lose on legislation. But we will win the message war every day, and every week, until November 2010,” said Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., an outspoken conservative who has participated on the GOP message teams. “Our goal is to bring down approval numbers for [Speaker Nancy] Pelosi and for House Democrats. That will take repetition. This is a marathon, not a sprint.”

McHenry’s spokesperson, Brock McCleary, tells me his boss is standing by the quote.

With some of the posts I've already seen on this board and others this does not surprise me at all. If anything, it explains a lot of the way some people are acting. Too bad it won't work.

I think the better answer here is that there is apparently no reasoning with people who actually think all this nonsense legislation has been good for the country. The only hope for our country to survive is for people to be willing to step back and weight the merits and faults of these policies and approbations and hope that they will express their concerns to their elected officials in hopes that reason will finally sink in with these power drunken pirates.

Even Warren Buffett, who supported Obama, is having his doubts!
