Whomever wrote the headline apparently "didn't get it" either.
Or,do you write your own? If so...

Blood sugar down?

And those that bother to snap pixs of their ticket....I guess they know how to send them to the author...right?

(To someone who complains about her privacy being invaded, she doesn't give out her address where to send them! LOL - So, what's the point in this silly opinion/letter?)

Compare license plates at Fest with city records

StoryDiscussionPosted: Friday, July 2, 2010 12:00 am | No Comments Posted

It's time again for the Festival of the Lakes. Never mind the city is too broke to honor contracts with the cops and firefighters. Forget overflowing sewers and neglected parks. It's party time for the mayor and his pals!

2009's Fest had a $630,000 budget. The mayor claims all but $35,000 was recouped. That's untrue. He doesn't count the thousands of dollars of casino money they call "sponsorships." The city refuses to disclose the exact amount of casino money involved, but it's at least $200,000, best I can tell.

The mayor's dinner cruise, which he claims is held to thank the sponsors, lost $40,000 alone.

Such a deal! You thank your officials for spending your money with a cruise you can't enjoy unless you pay $100!

Worse, the city threw away receipts last year for parking and beer concessions. That's illegal, plus we can't get an honest accounting.

So here's my idea. Everyone parking at the Fest snap a picture of the parking ticket with their phone. Make sure the number on the ticket shows clearly.

I'll compare them later with the city's records.

Well, so far three of her "incompetent" friends posted in her favor.

Art Peshcke said that the mayor donated $100,000.00. That leaves $20,000.00 from donors.
The mayor said today that Horseshoe gives $25,000.00 and Donna Muta gives them 10 tickets. Something's wrong there already! That's $5,000.00 above the $280,000.00, what about the other donors? He says that he's not supposed to give out who the vendors are and how much they give. The Pierogi Fest sponsors are named and what dollar level they gave at. I always thought that sponsors WANT people to know who they are. It's called advertising.
It's the MAYOR who doesn't want the true figures known as usual!

Also, last week they said the tickets $100.00 which is about $25.00 less than the regular price of $125.00. This week the regular price is $150.00, so you can save $50.00.
His lies will never end."

Excuse me...are you posters above that are agreeing with this nitwit, understanding the headline up there?

What does license plates have to do with the article?

Lastly, if a writer tells the PUBLIC to send her pixs, WHY DOES SHE NOT EXPOSE HOW OR WHERE?

It's just a bull-shit letter she wrote knowing it wouldn't lead to nothing...with NO INTENTION of IMPLICATING her plans to "take care of it."

She is something else, and you quacks with the exception of "Progressive" realizing what her letter to the Editor is meant to be....an outright witch hunt with nothing but trying to cause rumors and with no intention of giving out her address, phone, or emails so those picture taking tickets can be sent to her.

And again, what do license plates have to do with the articles?

Is her dope getting to her?

What an azz she makes out of herself. LOL. Sick, sick...needs to lay off the weed.

This is so funny. What I'd like to know is how on earth would she be able to decipher cell phone photos. Isn't she half-blind? She'll compare them? That's like putting Hitler in charge of a human rights commission.

I still want to know how in the heck license plates got up there in the title of her open letter.

As a reporter, a very reputable reporter who Artie and myself damaged, we ask why someone claiming a successful background as a reputable reporter, did not reveal to the public where the camera-generated photos of tickets should be sent?
LOL
Everyone should take pixs of fake tickets and say that's what the fest asked them to return to keep her busy.

Just address your envelope to:

Marsha freetime (as she signed the letter to the editor)
Wicked Witch of West
Hammond, IN 46324

The mailman knows where she lives...no problem. It'll get there...might have to look that zip up, though. I know the street number, but folks, you really don't need it...she's already assuming you know it...by not posting instructions...as to how you are to send these pixs

Oh, less than 3 hours she thanked the Times, but as usual blamed them for not reading her article before putting up the License plate headline.....

2 more groppers answered. One to go....on her board...in favor of something that won't even occur.

Jim B said: "Good thinking and it might even work."

If it doesn't work, no loss. I'm hoping it does.

It can't hurt to try.

A gentleman called McDermott on WJOB today and asked him to present the correct financial figures, if indeed I am wrong as the mayor claims.

Of course he didn't do that. He went off on a tangent like he always does when someone tries to pin him down.

I'm gratified that at least some people are picking up on all the discrepancies I've been trying to point out.

I am disappointed at Jed at WJOB, though. He said he's tired of talking about the Fest finances and he didn't want any more calls about it.

Playing right into McDermott's hands, if you ask me.

Anyway, anyone with pictures after the Fest can send them to me anonymously at Facebook of they wish. Messages about being asked to return tickets would also be very welcomed.

Together, we can clean this up.
************************************************************

Yes, all six of YOU! Where do we send this info, Ms. Hehney...as a professional past - post reporter, where do we as the public send you in these misinformative tickets?

Why would you accept enemies on your facebook? Once a copy on my computer sent to you, why would I need a copy back.

Thanks for reading my complaints and correcting how stupid you were to leave out details in the original letter to the public that would reach many more than leaving it out and confining it to your seven friends, with one to go.

As usual, you made the headline, and blamed the TIMES. Hilarious!

Here is my personal letter to the "Newstip" regarding the allegation Ms. Marsha claims that the NWITimes.com screwed up her headline, and after reading my post says you are welcomed to send her copies of her tickets to her facebook annonymously.

As if people don't have copies on their own computer.

Anyway, she blames the NWITimes.com for "as usual, you didn't read the letter before you typed the Headline."

For verification, I sent her remarks and want to know if she's telling the truth.

Here's what I wrote:

DEAR NEWSTIP:

Regarding the headline, "Compare License Plates to the Festival of Lakes" - what does that have to do with the body of her letter. She stated in the Northwest Forum, "As usual, the Times don't read the letter before posting a headline!"

Secondly, why would you post a suggestion by Ms. Hehney for everyone to snap photos of their tickets and send them to her, abd "she will take it from there," without further instruction, such as HOW DO YOU FORWARD such a request? Please email me with your answer, because she is now blaming YOU,
the NWITIMES.com for publishing a letter from her with the wrong headline (in her words, "AS USUAL), then further instructs (after I complained on another board), where to send them on - on the NorthwestIndiana.com...board. Send them annonymosly, (you need permission to join her facebook account) and she "will return them". If you send someone something through facebook, you already have the original, and she owns what you send.

Please be careful in the future as to how you proceed in exposing "Letters to the Editor"; Ask as a responsible proofreader, how the public can respond to a mentallly ill person who includes no details until later when someone posts what details she left out.

Who posted the headline?

She claims NWITimes.com ran the letter without proofreading it, giving it the wrong headline.

She left out details as to how her accusation of false verification of tickets can be photo-shot by cameras of participants of the Festival, leaving out the fact, many walk there and to forward the pixs to her, and "she will check them out later I guess, at city hall" She failed to mention where people were to send the photos. Gee, like more than ten would arrive, but that is besides the fact. Check out facts, call the person for details before you print a vague letter from a woman with a vendetta against the whole world, sitting alone on the 4th of July, mad, cuz no one is around to argue. At least I won't be.

Only after I stated the headline at early a.m., and what does license plates have to do with the body of the letter, and how would people know where to direct the tickets without her directions., she went on NorthwestIndiana.com and played the answers off well...as if we don't thinks she's ill.

Luckily, only six out of seven of her friends responded, so I am expecting 7 people from that board to get bored enough to go there and take pix of tickets.

Save yourselves the trouble. If you are bored...take pixs of fake tickets and mail them to her: FreeTime, Brunswick Street, Hammond, IN. Use the name she used in her letter: Marsha Hehney. Trust me, even the mailman is afraid of her and knows her. The tickets will get there. Just make sure they are bogus. Lonely people need that extra exercise of the mind to keep it from being the workshop of the devil...even though she attends it every year.

Bombard her with fake tickets to keep her busy for a year. Thank you on behalf of other posters...

sincerely....

ME.

Who wrote the headline, "Compare license plates at Festival"?

NWI.Times, as she claims. Let's hear the truth

I'd love to know how she intends to perform that magic trick. Rolling Eyes

The city isn't going to let her anywhere near those records, short of a court order. I can hear it now...."Judge I've got some cell phone photos that I want to match up.I have no actual evidence of wrong doing or probable cause but I need you to order the City of Hammond to turn over thousands of receipts and other related documents so that I can compare them". Another great illustration of just how delusional she truly is.
