Hammond's Festival of the Lake is a bummer for Free.

Here are some rather exciting ones that just offer food, entertainment and carnival rides. Crappy ones.

I suggest someone email professionally to advertise the Hammond fest in SouthStar.

Check'em out Free!

TICKET TO RIDE

Take a ride on the wild side with photographer Brett Roseman as he tours the Southland summer festival scene through his new Ticket to Ride blog at blogs.southtownstar.com/festivals, which includes the informative topic "Mastering the midway games."

HEY GOHAMMOND.....give them info on Hammond's Fest. of the Lakes! Email that guy.

A warning to others: Attended a much-publisized stupid festival way out west last July. What a waste. Free parking and nothing but a carnival with the same booths. Highlights cost big bucks if you wanted to see horse races, dog-pony shows. Food was dog-food slammed on a hamburger bun costing $5.00 from the church hall, cuz we thought it would taste better than the duplicate hot dog/hamburger/gyro/slosh stands. We puked after we got home. We were only there an hour...and it took an hour to get there.

Glamorized free this and that, and never would go back again. It was totally sickening.

All we took in was the horse show/display. If you wanted to see them race, it was 25.00 a person. So, complain all you want, but if they knew of Hammond's cruise and fishing derby they'd come and those without children would go gambling, too.

Well, Free, Hammond can't have a festival?

Go jump.
