Economic Bailout- another step towards a New World Order?

So I'm not a conspiracy theorist but my mind is more open than in the past...I was thinking, does anyone here believe in a government conspiracy towards a New World Order? With the government intervening and recent bailouts does anyone think that this could be part of a bigger plan moving this country towards socialism and a larger NWO? Come on conspiracy theorists and debunkers- whatcha think?

While I can partially understand the thought, I think to say we are stepping into an age of socialism is not anywhere close to the truth. For socialism to actually be socialism, the government must take over the company and make all financial decisions for the company. This has and is not happening. If the government didn't step in, the effects on all of our lives would be much greater than they are now. If as some say the dollar isn't worth the paper it is written on, then why is our dollar still worth close to what it was prior to the "bail out"? Seems to me this was a reasonable response, however, those who have recieved tarp money must be held accountable just as the auto companies are being held accountable. For this to work the banks must start to lend money, so far they really aren't, they are just hording their money.

That was interesting that you pointed that out, but wouldn't the fact that even wanting a financial stake in a company could lead to said company being completely over ran by the government??

Okay, so maybe not socialism, but how about fascism? Either way capitalism seems to be coming to an end in this country...

As long as we have the ability to vote our leaders out of office or impeach them if they break the law, there is no danger of this country becoming Fascist. Bloggers who write otherwise are simply showing they don't understand what the term means in the first place. The biggest problem I see with the bailouts of the financial industry is that the taxpayer is being forced to pay for risky loans made by banks. The Republican led deregulation efforts have shifted risk from banks to taxpayers. We are continually being told that we "have to bail out this bank or brokerage firm" to prevent financial collapse. Financial collapse of who, some billionaire investor? We already have financial collapse here. Taxpayers take all the risk while banks make money no matter how poorly they are run.
