U.S. Army Maj. Stefan Frederick Cook, set to deploy to Afghanistan, says he shouldn’t have to go.
His reason?
Barack Obama was never eligible to be president because he wasn’t born in the United States.
Cook’s lawyer, Orly Taitz, who has also challenged the legitimacy of Obama’s presidency in other courts, filed a request last week in federal court seeking a temporary restraining order and status as a conscientious objector for his client.
Really? Really? This guy should be embarrassed. He just announced his stupidity to the world.

The lawyer representing him is known as the Queen Bee of the Birthers. She even ended up in a legal fight with Phillip Berg,another nut trying to prove Obama isn't a citizen.

It turns out that this guy was in the reserves and volunteered to go over to Afghanistan two months ago. He's from Florida and the lawyer is from California. I think he volunteered so that he could file suit. IMO, they should court martial this guy and punish the attorney for filing a frivolous lawsuit.

Keith really ripped Major Cook, saying Major Cook was hiding behind the skirt of his attorney instead of just admitting he was afraid to go into combat. I think it's awesome that the posts he made on FreeRepublic message board have been revealed to the entire world. IMO, a wingnut's worst nightmare is having the comments they post on message boards revealed to the entire country on the evening news. One of the statements he posted shows he thinks Global Warming is a hoax. Imagine that!

As expected, Orly's latest fiasco got dismissed. At some point, she really needs to start watching her back for disgruntled or ruined clients.
In this instance, Cook has some real reason to be upset. As a divorcing guy, his life was already a shambles, undoubtedly wrecked in part by his FReepish nuttery. Now, he doesn't even have a job and may find himself to be less than employable, now that his nuttiness is in the news. ---------- There's more at the above link. I probably should have titled this, What Have They Been Smoking? The Birthers have been all excited today about an article in the World Net Daily or as we on "the left" like to call it, the World Nut Daily, that claims they have a birth certificate for Obama from Kenya.
It's a "very serious article" with screen shots of the certificate and assurances that their crack research team has investigated this fully and obtained other Kenyan birth certificates that are formated identically. They can't find a reason to doubt its authenticity.
But their researchers seemed to have missed one "slightly" salient fact. Kenya didn't gain its independence from Great Britain until December 12, 1963 and only declared itself as a Republic on December 12, 1964. Thus, it seems highly unlikely they would be issuing any official documents under the Republic seal in 1961. It gets even better,Scorpion.....At the time this "birth certificate" was "issued", Kenya was known as the "Dominion of Kenya". The city of "Mombasa" where they claim Obama was born wasn't even part of Kenya. Until December 12 1963 it was in Zanzibar,which is in present day Tanzania. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mombasa

Google is in on all of this. Taitz hedges and hints as with the gay murders, but she seems to entertain the possibility that Google, or possibly the entire Internet, is part of the plot to cover up Obama's illegitimacy. She muses darkly on the hacking of her PayPal account and the disappearance of her Wikipedia page, as well as hundreds of thousands of lost results for the search "Orly Taitz." She wants to know how else to explain why Google flagged her Web site as a "Reported Attack Site!"

Drake complained that Taitz's paperwork errors have delayed proceedings.
"Orly is getting overwhelmed," Drake said. "We all make mistakes, but she is in over her head."
Taitz's initial complaint was sent back to her by the court for being incomplete, as was a filing last week alleging the possession of a Kenyan birth registration for Obama – a document experts have dismissed as a forgery.
Among omissions in the more recent document was such basic information as Taitz's bar number. In another recent filing by Taitz, her own name was misspelled as "Orley." "I rest my case," Drake said.

Judge Clay Land, a Bush appointee, dismissed one of the roughly 12 million birther suits filed by Orly Taitz, this one on behalf of a soldier claiming she can't be deployed to Iraq by Obama because he's not legitimately the commander-in-chief. And he minced few words in declaring the case frivolous and telling Taitz that if she files another one in his district, she'll be subject to sanctions (see the full ruling here).
