A little late, but if you want the best corned beef in the world, and feel free to smoke, visit the Crowbar on the Southside, west of Indianapolis Blvd.


The corned beef can't be beat - marinated for over a month, the best in the world. If you want to smoke, throw five bucks in the bucket to pay the fine for smoking to help the owner out. We use to serve that at the cat house free in Cal City, line was out the door. You gotta go...

You can still go there tomorrow and pick up an order. This corned beef is the real thing...marinated in a barrel..you'd never taste anything like it. You can't even make it like it is.

I'm getting my sandwich in awhile after the ex and son gets back, but making a pit stop tomorrow to freeze some.

I steer clear of IL bars & restaurants. I feel it my civic responsibility to not contribute to the delinquency of the children running the place.

Did you see the Civic Center for the St. Pattys Day fundraiser for Mayor McDermott? I stopped by and got a ticket at the door. Somebody said that over 1200 people went through there that evening. It was amazing in regards to the amount of people there. I saw the mayor staying busy greeting people and I got to shake his hand. I finally had a chance to thank him for the College Bound Program.

Didn't know there was corned beef around the corner, cuz they didn't go to the Crowbar and brought some slosh back from somewhere in Hammond...processed crap. I didn't eat a thing yesterday, cuz I wanted my corned beef from the Crow Bar. All that time, I could have just gone around the corner? How come it wasn't advertised.

I missed my corned beef yesterday, but I'm sure my mom has left-overs, heading up there tomorrow.

Ah, Mirage, don't know who owns that CrowBar now, it's been a few years...but we used to know the owner who was older. Didn't know maybe there are kids there. Use to be iron workers, etc.

I'll get left-overs at my ma's this wknd Won't taste the same, but better than nothing.
