it appears mr. janic has purchased some air time on wjob. not sure when or with whom hes gonna pop up and since i still refuse to listen to preacher here are some suggested questions to ask should the opportunity to call in and ask them arise. all of these questions (save for #4) are based on previous public comments or literature that mr. janiec has already put out there but perhaps may want to (re)clarify. after each question ill give ya his original answer and denote where i got it from

#1 george what branch of the military did you serve in?
flyer on my door on sept 27 claims hes a milatary veteran

#2 why after 2 years on the school board did you suddenly find a need to seek out information on the college bound program now just 2 months before you run for mayor?
tiger from the other board posted last month that george anounced he is seeking college bound info at a recent board meeting

#3 speaking of the school board what has been your single biggest priority on that body and what have you accomplished it in the past 2 years on that board
when he last ran he said that cutting the school budget and transparency was his top priorities

#4 exactly how did you wind up with paralysis in your legs?
i dont believe hes ever made public mention of it

#5 end henry units? really wed oct 19 jeds morning show said it was wrong for councilman kalwinski to help pay for these units with casino money

#6 open 165th? really?
same show claimed the environmental reasons for closing it in the 80's could easilly be mitigated with casino money and the road reopened

#7 block the potash development? really?
same show decried the private development by the ihb railroad that will help service the development called it irresponsible (even though its this exact private development that is helping to lure the company here)

#8 still hung up on the health dept? really?
said this was an example of the current mayors budget cutting prowess that he opposes...went on to say the city should be spending more money (not less) on public buses. in fact during the whole show, george whos flyers all talk of cutting city government, did not propose cutting one dime of spending. he did however as ya can see above propose increasing a whole lot.

#9 who would be your chief of staff? really?
at a team hammond meeting approx last september (i was there with a group of observers that disagreed with them) he introduced jim premeske as hammonds next chief of staff.

I believe he's got 1 or 2 more interviews with JED and at least 5 with his chief water boy,preacher. As far as taking calls,I believe he's putting up friends and sympathizers to call in if he even takes some at all. That's the way it sounded today on Creature's show. One caller was a friend of his and the other was 'Walt from Munster" a right wing loon.

I think the question about about his paralysis is out of bounds. It may be good fodder for gossip,but unless you can tie it into his ability to do the job physically,I don't see where it would be relevant. Now if it happened because of a poor decision on his part that could be relevant.

I am pretty sure JED said George will be the next two Wednesdays coming up. Taking calls on JED's show also.

Why are you guys really discussing Janiec? He hasn't really spoken out. Why so fearful?

He has not been outspoken, or vocal. Has not put up billboards.

Why is it that Mayor McDermott needs to spend money on signs?

Why is it that Janiec is so silent and has a hairline of campaign funds, yet Mayor McDermott feels the need with six figures in his campaign account (to waste) plastering signs when we all know it's a given.

Once you leave Hammond and hear other's stories from the '70s, you realize you re-entered a hell-hole, and once you realize you're in a better place, non of this matters.

It's what, 4000 rentals and growing? Now I know why. And that is the answer to why when your generation is gone, or the administration YOU work for will be history, for it's a trip back to "Hell no, we won't go" in Dolton.

Only after you leave you realize you made a stupid mistake not doing your homework, thinking you were safe buying in Hammond. No way. That place is for "who you know" with too much invested in their lifetimes, which is the LAST generation.

Sort of like how Roseland, Dolton, Calumet City, Glenwood, Sauk Village went down.

You guys are the last to "carry on". Your police chief took joy in making jokes going off track reporting bones found in Hammond, like it was a joke.

He thinks he's comical. He's got an ego and "above the law" ego trip and chip on the shoulder that's about to be blown off, exposing HIS loyalty to politicians, vs. citizens. That's the truth.

When you meet someone who last worked for Hammond in the '70s and told you how corrupt it is, and the story hasn't changed, you know. I didn't know. I though it was weird. Everything.

What you can't disagree about is... if you walk away from it and look back, you wondered why you didn't do your homework before investing.

Rentals outweigh the true property owners and you need to ask yourself WHY.

You double victimized me two times. The third is to be the CHARM. Betrayal of PUBLIC TRUST. Brutalized at the hand of monsters, double whammied by cops, salt it with false arrest, imprisoned, and on the verge of dying. Medical records don't lie.

I could careless about the corruption. It happens all over. When you hit it on me, you incidentely picked on the wrong person.

If your cop that sat at the corner for years for hours was doing his job, you wouldn't need barriers on the opposite end.

I arrived at the hospital almost dead.

You want to know why McDermott is spending the money on this election? Because everyone though it was in the bag four years ago and Tom only won by 400 something votes. He made a promise then to never let that happen again and he is proving it this time. George will be lucky to be within 4000 votes this time.

As for some of the things you complain about in you last post, I have been here over 10 years and have seen a lot of the OPPOSITE of what you are stating. I have talked to Chief Miller a few times about things in this city and my own neighborhood. He is usually not in his office, but out on the streets. There are still more homeowners in Hammond compared to rentals, but I admit rentals are rising. This is due to a couple of things, one is the economy/mortage crisis. Lots of houses for sale cheap now that speculators are grabbing for profits down the road. Another is partially what you were talking about in the 70s. People don't like their neighbors so that move south and rent out the old house in Hammond to help pay the higher cost of living in south county. I am not planning on going anywhere anytime soon.

I DON'T WONDER. i KNOW WHY.

What I will expose eventually will tell the people the truth.

I don't want a penny from you, Hammond. Like my other lawsuit that infrindged on my rights, I asked not to sue when told to sue. I said, "I just want to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else".

Many letters sent from a certain entiety were ignored by the Chicago Judge of Superior Powers. Until it happened to someone else. She sued, she won. I won too: the law got changed.

Happy campers with superior powers were forced to face their own shortcomings and forced to pay forward to someone who wanted to be rewarded. I paved the way, and that's all I wanted. Don't let it happen again, is all I wanted.

When it happens three times from 2004 to 2011 and the chief did send a letter of apology to me for being "victimized twice" he didn't learn.

Reading how he boasts getting the bad guys..your excuse he spent time talking to you..I caught him in the hall spending a LOT of time listening to a lady with a young boy with a bike inside the station.

I was told originally to go get my discovery papers in the back at the time..saw him talking to the lady about a bent up bike. My God, his face sweating, red, and his demeanor was, "I don't have time to walk to my office and answer a line" which I couldn't blame him. But his staff sent me 50 miles in claiming I could collect it in the back, and excuse me for interrupting. He glanced at the papers and said to my brother and me, "Oh, I don't see anything there that would call for an arrest". No shitz, that's why I asked. I only spent one friday til Saturday in your jail and ended up almost dead at the hospital, where's my stuff?

He didn't have time to say anything except I needed a lawyer. So, a weekend in jail, didn't eat, no toilet paper, used my own underwear, and no medicine that was in my purse when I arrived, and begging to let me go...or I was slipping away and going to die.

Thank God ...they claimed I could hear but took my hearing aid away...I dry heaved, I begged Sunday to just let me out or I was going to die.

They didn't give a ratz ass but the black young man did. He noticed I didn't eat all weekend and layed weakly on the floor. I told him I was slippping away. He got Judge Harkin to let me go...I was told they would have had a dead corpse in a body bag to present before the judge the following morning had I not been given a reprieve.

The house was totalled/the officer who came called the arresting officer to find out what the heck happened. The arresting officer told the officer (nice, articulate, my favorite policeman who treated me with respect) said, let me give him a call and see what is up.

Got off the phone and said the arresting officer said "What the hell is she out of jail for? She has court tomorrow!"

Almost dead on arrival at the hospital. Beaten by a dope addict. I called 911, they listened to creeps. I don't think I'll ever get over this one.

Except, the arresting cop has not been occupying 173rd & the parking lot facing the church and 173rd Street since this happened. Glass now covers the parking lot.

And I suppose, he's finally on "routine duty" with someone actually, someday, will be flagging him down for helf.

Except, I didn't flag a routine cop car on routine call going down a street where officers already arrived.

He was parked. He stared straight. I thought HE was on drugs.

What cop stares straight out of his windshielf, mumbles one time, doesn't look at you and you end up apologizing to HIM for bothering him, and saying, "Another cop car pulled up, I'll talk to him".

That's when he got out of his trance and did the butterfly dance with his sirens and lights, leaving me in the parking lot, and when I walked two doors down to the house he promptly arrests me. I didn't struggle, didn't resist. I was too busy keeping score of my evidence and his violations.

He didn't know I was deaf in the dark. He claimed he knew from prior dealings in his report. He is so full of it. When? What time, what day, what year, what cause? All I knew was he sat in a grey car in the parking lot next to my neighbor who was all excited about telling the court.

Except it's a waste of time.

He's the looser. I don't have to hide anything. He knows he did wrong. Why? Joan hasn't seen him sitting next to her house since, after many years and every week before.

I beg you to update your cops. Even the state police in Michigan and IL. I asked them what do you do when you get involved with someone that may be experiencing diabetic comas, have a disability, or was perhaps beaten and mistaken for being drunk.

They didn't just tell me, they demonstrated. They take you in the house and or near the light any light (I was by a light when I approached the officer in the parking lot. He did not look at me, he only mumbled, not moving his lips just ONCE) not what is stated in his revised report.

I don't have anything else to say except this is Domestic Violence Month. I was always involved with Domestic Violence Groups, especially with Kelly from Safe Haven.

Why even bring up Janiec? It's a given Mayor McDermott is running unopposed unless the silence is going to backfire.

He's gonna go on and move his life forward, leaving you dangling. And, I don't blame him... for the sake of his kids, I hope he does. Imagine putting down Catholic Grade School, the School City of Hammond for High School when they are educated three years in advancement from Catholic School. At some point you have to stop and consider the environment, the graduation rate, the loosers attending your children's only options for high school. Kudos to him if that's his reason. Kids come first.

My kids came first above all priorities and I sure as hell didn't send them to Bishop Noll for H.S. It hhad such a bad reputation in the late 90s. We had to make a decision. Us or them?

What kid deserves to be sent to school city or a failing charter school in Hammond? Who in their right mind would send their smart college-bound kids to such a limited choice of high schools in a shoddy neighborhood?

I'm not a mayor, but Iwe, as parents, ... when we couldn't sell, we sent them to the best high school in the nation, paid the out of state tuition and accomodations and turned over the guardianship, yet had daily tabs on their school meetings, spots, grade records, health, etc., and paid more than college tuition at the time to guarantee they were going to continue to not only get the proper education, but be surrounded by kids just like them. The mayor is no different. His kids I assume, are about ready for high school and that Catholic Tuition is NOT going to go down the drain by sticking them in with low-lifes.

No responsible parent would settle for Hammond to send their college bound kids to high school. No way. Even with free tuition promised for college anywhere in Indiana. Nothing comes free.

You just don't send your kids to ghetto school and you don't say it's ok to have babies after bashing Hammond High and telling your kids there's a deal on a house and Hammond is horrible, "here is a house for a deal, never mind your kids may end up in Hammond School City. I

Had you done research, more could have been bought for less in St. John, IN. Such a hypocrite. I would've told my daughter "get the hell away from where I bitched all these years.
