what a unbelievably great day. this is as clear of a mandate for the mayor and the direction he is taking the city as could have ever been imagined. and it is an undeniable denunciation of anyone that would try to claim this city isnt becoming better and better every day. it was mcdermott sr that began the slogan of hammond pride. it took 20 years but i think his son has now turned that slogan into a mindset.

easy to congratulate the mayor and his team tonight. but beyond that congratulations to the residents of the city. to imagine an incumbent anywhere else in the free world getting this type of margin of victory in this world wide political climate? well pretty much nobody can. its not only historic artie, its a landmark that everyone else in the country will now aspire too.
