Neither the PT or NWTimes carried this story this a.m. I was waiting...but you know how they borrow news.
This is terrible. Kill a kid - an aspiring kid attending Purdue, our future, serve 7 years and go out and do what you were suppose to learn from.
This monster should have had more years to serve for the death of this child. Instead, 7 years....and is found to never have learned. Hang them after the first offense when it involves a death.
Take away the license, the right to drive...and put them in prison for life.
http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/3247098-418/police-car-eaton-tiffany-basketball.html A Gary man convicted 11 1/2 years ago in a drunken driving crash that killed a Purdue University basketball star is back in jail, arrested Saturday after police found him drunk and unconscious behind the wheel of a car, police said.
On July 31, 1999, Arnold D. Eaton was drunk when he ran a red light and struck a car, killing Tiffany Young, 21, a Purdue basketball star. Her longtime boyfriend, Neil Sinclair, suffered severe injuries.
Eaton was sentenced to seven years in prison. Saturday night, police saw a white Buick stopped in the middle of 15th Avenue near Interstate 65 in Gary. Officers found Eaton in the car, which smelled strongly of alcohol. He has been charged with operating while intoxicated, refusing a breath test and drunken driving with a prior conviction, police said. Lori Caldwell
