Republican Leaders Upset. Want Obama to be Called More Names

Sounds like a lead story of the "Onion",doesn't it? And here I thought the Repubs had moved on from "socialist" to "facist". The party of no new ideas strikes again!

Republican state party leaders are rebelling against new Republican National Committee Chairman Michael S. Steele for failing to dub President Obama and the Democrats as "socialists." And the rebels insist that the label matters.

Even though Mr. Steele has called his Democratic adversaries "collectivists," at least 16 state leaders say the term lacks the pejorative punch needed to sway public opinion and want all 168 members of the Republican National Committee to debate and vote on it.

It is the first time in memory that a sitting national leader of the Republican Party has faced a public challenge over his ideological leadership by conservative members of his own national committee.

Actually this sounds wonderful! It's a brilliant tactic!!

This way they can call Obama a socialist indirectly and at the same time enlighten the public as to just what socialism means to them personally. It's a win, win if played correctly!

This is just as masterful of a move as the Dem tactic of proposing a huge increase in spending, then cutting that number by 10% - 50% or slightly more so it doesn't sound so bad, which means they snuck in an increase and made some people think they did them a favor by not increasing spending "as much." Except it was ALL an increase! Yet sometimes the Dems even call this a tax "cut."

There's the RNC problem. It's a tactic and not a solution to our nations problems and that's why you guys lost in the first place. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying Obama's solution is the correct solution to our problems, but you'd better come to the table with something more than the same old boring (Obama's a socialist) if you expect to even have a chance.

You think so? The wingnut noise machine (Limbaugh,hannnity,Beck,bachmann,etc) has been calling him that for months. What's it accomplished? Absolutely nothing! Obama's poll numbers continue to be very positive.

Kudos to that. They want to embarrass Obama? I can't think of a easier way than offering better solutions, not names.
