Wal-Mart, CVS, Best Buy ditch Glenn Beck (plus 5 more companies)

Big news today. We've confirmed that eight more major advertisers have pulled their support from Glenn Beck's show -- Wal-Mart, Best Buy, CVS, Travelocity, Allergan (maker of Restasis), Ally Bank, Broadview Security, and Re-Bath.

Overall, twenty advertisers have now ended their support of Beck. We're going to keep the pressure on Beck's remaining advertisers this week, and we'll let you know how you can help.

The really good news is that it's starting to snowball and hopefully more advertisers will take notice.

A total of 33 Fox advertisers, including Walmart, CVS Caremark, Clorox and Sprint, directed that their commercials not air on Beck's show, according to the companies and ColorofChange.org, a group that promotes political action among blacks and launched a campaign to get advertisers to abandon him. That's more than a dozen more than were identified a week ago.

If you watched Keith Olbermann last night you saw bits and pieces of this rant from Glenn Beck. It absolutely has to be seen in its entirety. It's like watching someone make the final descent into utter madness. It's so stark raving nuts that you feel embarrassed for him while watching it. It's so over the top that you begin to wonder if Beck is not really an even more clever version of Stephen Colbert, mocking the wingnut mentality so effectively that we can't even tell he's mocking it.
