Voter would be the expert on this UR, but I believe it has to be registered every year, wether tenants are in there or not. The inspection is annual and it is done by the Fire Dept. and it basiclly just checks for smoke detectors.

Rentals have to be registered every year by April 15th occupied or not. If a rental is vacant you can fill out an affidavit stating such but when you enter into a lease you have 30 days after it is signed to register. If you did not register for 2010 you will not be able to register for 2011 until the late fee of $500 and per unit charge is paid for 2010. Cost is $20 for a Hammond resident with a valid homestead deduction or $80 out of city.

He comes across as a big phony to me. He has that so called food show that he's used to try and promote various schemes. I think one had to do with allegedly drinking coffee or tea to lose weight He always railed about franchise restaurants and how bad they were until one dropped some coin and decided to advertise on his show.
