Club for Growth backs Rubio over Crist in race for Florida Senate seat

Man, with "friends" like the Club for Growth," who needs enemies? The GOP had better start winning these battles, or they risk losing the Independents for good.

Crist strikes me as an excellent candidate for the Senate, with the potential to go on to even bigger things in the future. He's exactly the kind of candidate that the GOP should unite behind.

I wonder if Crist would consider switching parties? This race is going to get real ugly,real fast,especially when they bring out the gay rumors.

The Club is in the business of supporting fiscally conservative candidates, sometimes in primaries against incumbent Republicans. In the 2008 election cycle, they launched an offensive against Rep. Wayne Gilchrest (R-MD), who, thanks to the Club's efforts, lost his primary to conservative Andy Harris, and the seat eventually went to the Democrats.
