First, for perspestives sake, I am a Democrat to the point where I don't flinch when pundits say we are heading to a Socialist regime...I more or less just shrug. That being said, are these guys marketing their blog totally wrong or what? Why take so many shots at Republicans in this era of "optimism" or "change"? It sounds petty and defeatist...here is their first emailed press release
You're invited to check out the Indiana Democratic Party's official new blog.
The blog will highlight Democrats who are serving their communities and districts across Indiana. It also will hold Republicans accountable for their unwillingness to work across party lines to improve health care, education and, most importantly, our ailing economy.
We'll update the blog with new stories and videos every day, so add it to your bookmarks and visit often!
We hope you'll also feel comfortable participating in the conversation by posting your comments and sharing your thoughts with other Democrats across the state. The site is intended to be a fun, interactive and spirited online gathering spot.
If you've got something you'd like to see posted on the blog, send it to
info@indems.org, and we'll take a look!
Thanks for your continued interest in the Indiana Democratic Party. We look forward to welcoming you into our online community.
Democratically yours,
Daniel J. Parker
Chair
Here is their second update...
Have you checked out the new Indiana Democratic Party blog yet?
The blog is the newest feature on our expanding and improving website, a destination where you can find out what's going on in political circles and connect with other Hoosier Democrats to talk about the news of the day.
Recent topics include:
Will the Australian-based operator of the Indiana Toll Road sell off its Hoosier asset as it looks to liquidate other investments around the world?
Is Indiana getting its fair share of stimulus funding?
Mitch Daniels promised us that switching to Daylight Saving Time would be a boon for our economy, but nearly one out of 10 Hoosiers currently is unemployed.
Does conservative radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh matter?
Log on to the IDP blog today and be part of the conversation!
Really? Blaming daylight savings time for unemployment? Rabble rousing about liquidating the toll roads? These guys sound like the Hannity Rush brigade and the reasons I can't stand the national Republican party (though I do love listening to Hannity). The blog itself is kinda allright...basically they cut out parts of news stories and make some general comments on them. I just don't understand why, especially during THIS legislative session where they are getting NOTHING passed, that they would spend so much time going against the grain and not try to capitalize on what the national Democrats are doing by putting a "feel good" spin on everything and leave the evil bitterness and crying to the other party. I think my guys are missing the boat on a national trend of making the Repubs the party of negativity
