Yeah. Whatever. But if you think that this fellow is going to be convicted of second degree murder, you're dreaming.
It's a tough sell that's for sure, but the trial isn't over yet. Zimmerman has been caught in several huge lies that now makes his story extremely suspect. (Trayvon jumping out of bushes where there were none. Z* claiming he didn't know the name of the street despite the fact there are only 3 streets in his complex,he's the neighborhood watch guy,and he's lived there for several years. Last, but not least,he outright lied on Hannity claiming he had no knowledge of "stand your ground" despite being an "A" student in course that taught that.) I expect the P* to put on a breathtaking final argument by the same prosecutor that delivered a simply outstanding opening one.

I suppose it's still possible that he might be convicted of manslaughter, but "Murder Two" is really a stretch, IMHO.
In central Florida who knows what can happen? They've had a couple of recent cases,Casey Anthony & Caryn Kelley, that should have been slam-dunk convictions and both walked free.
I'd be ok with manslaughter though. That would put Z* away for at least 20 yrs and possibly 30.

As the George Zimmerman trial moves into its third week, on Monday evening "Piers Morgan Live" invited Mark O'Mara to offer his insight and perspective on the proceedings, as part of a primetime, exclusive interview.
The man tasked with representing the defendant, O'Mara told Piers Morgan that regardless of the case's outcome, Zimmerman will forever be looking over his shoulder:
"First of all, my client will never be safe, because there are a percentage of the population who are angry, they're upset, and they may well take it out on him," said the guest. "So, he'll never be safe."
Boo Freakin Hoo. Ask your despicable killer client, if he'd prefer to change places with Trayvon Martin. May your client live the rest of his worthless life in the same fear that Trayvon Martin had when Z* ended his life.

Florida Sheriff Ready for Riots After Zimmerman Verdict
Tuesday, 09 Jul 2013 03:29 PM
By Tom Topousis
The sheriff of Broward County, Fla., is moving to head off riots following a verdict in the George Zimmerman murder trial.
Goodness! It appears that the sheriff automatically assumes that White Hispanics are so incapable of basic civility that they will immediately begin rioting in the event Zimmerman is found guilty. That would make the sheriff a racist and a profiler, wouldn't it? And a person in a position of governmental authority (such as a sheriff) engaging in profiling is a much more serious issue than a private citizen engaging in profiling, isn't it?

Local Agencies Prepping For Potential Violence After Zimmerman Trial
July 10, 2013 6:11 PM
MIAMI (CBS4) – Wednesday, around high noon, dozens of Miami Police officers lined up for riot training.
Armed with batons and horses, officers ran through various formations preparing for the worst.
“It’s a mandatory training. All these officers are given this equipment and it’s in the event we have civil unrest at any given moment our officers are ready on a minute’s notice,” Miami Police spokesman Freddie Cruz said.
My. Folks certainly seem to be on edge as they await the potential uprising of the Angry White Hispanics. A bunch of darned racist profilers, these cops are, and nobody seems to care.

In an unmistakable setback for George Zimmerman, the jury at the neighbourhood watch captain's second-degree murder trial has been given the option of convicting him on the lesser charge of manslaughter in the shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
Judge Debra Nelson issued her ruling over the objections of Zimmerman's lawyers shortly before a prosecutor delivered a closing argument in which he portrayed the defendant as an aspiring police officer who assumed Martin was up to no good and took the law into his own hands.
To win a second-degree murder conviction, prosecutors must prove Zimmerman showed ill will, hatred or spite - a burden the defence has argued the state failed to meet. To get a manslaughter conviction, prosecutors must show only that Zimmerman killed without lawful justification.
Allowing the jurors to consider manslaughter could give those who aren't convinced the shooting amounted to murder a way to hold Zimmerman responsible for the death of the unarmed teen, said David Hill, an Orlando defence attorney with no connection to the case.
The little monster was none too happy today, shaking his head NO during the P* closing arguments. You might want to clear your calendar,Georgie, say for about the next 30 years

Rev. Al Sharpton blasted the jury's verdict in the George Zimmerman trial tonight on MSNBC: "Well, I think that this is an atrocity," said Sharpton. "I think that it is probably one of the worst situations that I've seen. What this jury has done is establish a precedent that when you are young and fit a certain profile, you can be committing no crime, just bringing some Skittles and iced tea home to your brother, and be killed and someone can claim self-defense having been exposed with all kinds of lies, all kinds of inconsistencies. ... Even at trial when he is exposed over and over again as a liar, he is acquitted. This is a sad day in the country. I think that we clearly must move on to the next step in terms of the federal government and in terms of the civil courts. Clearly, we want people to be disciplined, strategic. But this is a slap in the face to those that believe in justice in this country."
Way to try to keep the peace .... 'Reverend'.

Last night’s not-guilty verdict in the George Zimmerman trial will enable the neighborhood-watch volunteer to resume his case against NBC News for the mis-editing of his widely distributed call to police. Back in December, Zimmerman sued NBC Universal Media for defamation over the botched editing, which depicted him as a hardened racial profiler. George Zimmerman
Here’s how NBC News, in a March 27, 2012, broadcast of the “Today” show, abridged the tape of Zimmerman’s comments to a police dispatcher on the evening of Feb. 26, 2012:
Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.
The full tape went like this:
Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. Or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about. Dispatcher: OK, and this guy — is he black, white or Hispanic? Zimmerman: He looks black.
NBC Universal Media responded to the Zimmerman complaint by noting that other media outlets played up the racial angle of Zimmerman’s deadly encounter with Trayvon Martin.
The company also noted the pivotal nature of the second-degree murder case: “f Zimmerman is convicted, that fact alone will constitute substantial evidence that the destruction of his reputation is the result of his own criminal conduct, and not of the broadcasts at issue which, like countless other news reports disseminated by media entities throughout the country, reported on the underlying events.”
That formulation is now null.
Yes, that formulation is certainly now null. NBC's behavior was despicable. NBC has some seriously deep pockets, and I hope the plaintiffs reach in up to their elbows.

JEANTEL WARNED ZIMMERMAN COULD BE GAY RAPIST TRAYVON: NOT THAT KIND OF WAY
Tue Jul 16 2013 11:55:00 ET
Last night Trayvon Martin's friend Rachel Jeantel gave CNN her first interview since testifying in the George Zimmerman murder trial.
Jeantel opened up and let loose on the murder case that gripped that nation.
She explained to CNN's Piers Morgan how she warned her childhood friend that Zimmerman -- could be a gay rapist!
MORGAN: You felt that there was no doubt in your mind from what Trayvon was telling you on the phone about the creepy ass cracka and so on, that he absolutely believed that George Zimmerman, this man, you didn't know who he was at the time, but this man, was pursuing him?
JEANTEL: Yes.
MORGAN: And he was freaked out by it?
JEANTEL: Yes. Definitely after I say may be a rapist, for every boy, for every man, every -- who's not that kind of way, seeing a grown man following them, would they be creep out?
She continued:
"And people need to understand, he didn't want that creepy ass cracker going to his father or girlfriend's house to go get -- mind you, his little brother was there. You know -- now, mind you, I told you -- I told Trayvon it might have been a rapist."
Developing...
I didn't get the chance to see her testimony during the trial, so I was unaware of how truly eloquent she is - not to mention hot (and homophobic).

DOJ solicits email tips in Zimmerman civil rights probe
The U.S. Department of Justice on Monday afternoon appealed to civil rights groups and community leaders, nationally and in Sanford, for help investigating whether a federal criminal case might be brought against George Zimmerman for the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, one advocate said.
The DOJ has also set up a public email address to take in tips on its civil rights investigation.
Barbara Arnwine, president and executive director the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law – who earlier in the day joined calls for federal civil rights charges against Zimmerman, said that later in the afternoon, she joined a U.S. Department of Justice conference call to discuss the prospects.
“They were calling on us to actively refer anyone who had any information,” that might build a case against Zimmerman for either a civil rights violation or a hate crime, Arnwine said. “They said they would very aggressively investigate this case.”
Arnwine said the call was convened at about 3:30 p.m. by Tom Perez, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice, and included representatives from the FBI, and several federal prosecutors, she said. DOJ officials also said they would open a public email address so people could send in tips on the case.
In addition to Arnwine’s group, Sherrilyn Ifill, President and Director-Counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund; Laura Murphy, Washington Chapter head of the ACLU; and several national, Florida and Sanford-based “human relations” groups participated, Arnwine said.
During the call, DOJ officials announced they had set up a way for people to send email tips that could help aid in their investigation. The email address will be operational later this week.

Robert Zimmerman says that his family has not spoken to his brother, George Zimmerman, since he was acquitted for the murder of Trayvon Martin because President Barack Obama’s administration may be listening to their phone calls.
In an Tuesday interview on Fox News, Robert Zimmerman said that George Zimmerman’s parents had not spoken to or seen their son since the verdict on Saturday night.
“We do have concerns and always have of having our phones tapped, having our phones, you know, listened to by the administration or whomever because George is now as we know continually the subject of ongoing investigation.”
“So a lot of the things that we do are connecting in person, that’s how we’ve managed to stay hidden for so long, that’s kind of old school, but it works,” Robert Zimmerman added. “I have not spoken to him directly for the same reason.”

A Pew Research Center survey of tweets about the Zimmerman verdict within 26 hours of the end of the trial. (Pew Research Center)
According to a Pew Research Center analysis of 5 million tweets about the George Zimmerman murder trial verdict, nearly 40 percent of users tweeting about the case merely shared the news of the verdict, while nearly as many expressed an opinion about the outcome, and others criticized the media coverage.
Almost as many tweets offered views on the outcome. 31 percent of the tweets expressed anger at the verdict, while seven percent offered support. 11 percent of the tweets offered criticism of the media.
"The sentiments decrying the verdict were often emotional and frequently evoked a racial subtext, according to an analysis of the Twitter response to the trial outcome from 10 p.m. July 13 to midnight on July 14," Pew found. "Among that group, the largest component (15% of the Twitter reaction) was criticism of the criminal justice system, including charges that it is biased against African Americans. Another 14% accused Zimmerman of wrong-doing, such as deliberately profiling Martin. And 2% spoke of Trayvon Martin as an innocent victim."

he parents of slain teenager Trayvon Martin appeared on the Today Show Thursday morning to talk about their new focus after his killer, George Zimmerman, was found not guilty. The verdict has sparked massive protests all over the country and outpourings of grief from many prominent figures, not only over Trayvon’s death but over the implications it has for all black families.
Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin recognized the wider role their son’s death has had in exposing the justice system’s racial biases:
Is this the intent for the justice system to have for victims? It’s sending a terrible message to other little black and brown boys that, you can’t walk fast, you can’t walk slow. So what do they do? I mean, how do you get home without people assuming that you’re doing something wrong? Trayvon wasn’t doing anything wrong.
Shortly after Trayvon’s death, his parents started the Trayvon Martin Foundation to give black communities educational and legal support while spreading awareness about racial profiling. Martin concluded, “Even though nothing we can say or do will get Trayvon back, maybe we can help someone else not lose their child.”
The right-wing response to the verdict has ranged from denying any racial bias to insisting that black men are rightfully considered suspicious.
This common bias is used to justify the fact that young black men make up 80 percent of drug arrests in the country, even though they use drugs at the same rates as whites. Black defendants also receive far harsher sentences than white defendants convicted of the same crime, and are much more likely to be wrongfully convicted for crimes against white victims. The New York Police Department also argues that officers target mostly African Americans because black men have a higher crime rate.
Meanwhile, crimes against black victims like Trayvon Martin often result in lighter sentences or even acquittal.
As a result, a black male teenager has a 32 percent chance of serving time in prison at some point in his life, while the rest of the community lives under a constant cloud of suspicion. Nor is this suspicion restricted to low-income communities. On Tuesday, Attorney General Eric Holder recounted how frequently he has been stopped by police — once when he was running to catch a movie in Georgetown, even though he was a federal prosecutor at the time.
