Hammond's Park & Recreation is selling cancer-causing tanning beds

Any of you out there going to bid, or just ignore them?

Just curious. What doop-head has money to buy out-dated, skin-cancer causing tanning beds?

Maybe someone who needs to use it as a coffin. Once your dead, you're dead. They can close the lid on ya, and tape it shut.

How many people use that Civic Center, so crucial to be renovated. Hell, I thought it was just for the circus that used to come to town...Ringling Bros. Circus. And, well, as a "get together" for a rally over some stupid stuff.

How many of you Hammonites use that place? Renovating the civic center..such a necessary expense. When I was there, I had NO IDEA they offered exercise crap there. Even when the welcome wagon came in the mailbox...nothing said anything about that place.

So, the question is, anyone here from Hammond, have you utilize the Civic Center for exercise and tanning? If so, was it crowded?

I suggest the entire council meet there and discuss their minutes of the meeting while sweating it out.

The Civic center has an excellent work out facility in the basement. They are currently renovating the locker rooms/shower areas. There are plenty of work out equipment including free weights, treadmills and stationary bikes. They also have raquetball courts, a walking/ running track, workout classrooms and a swimming pool with sauna. I have used it many times in the early evening and there is always a decent crowd, but not overwhelmed.
