all 6 republican mayoral candidates combined recieved 1100 votes.

george shooter janiec recieved 369 votes.

with those numbers the combined repubs would have been second in the dem primary nosing out premeske by less then 100 votes.

shooter would not have come close to winning any district council race with just 369 votes and would have run a distant third in all but one of them.

the leading repub at large candidate (1009 votes) would not have won several of the district races with that amount.

with 7899 votes. tom mcdermott garnered more votes in the primary, then he were cast total in the general election of 2007...in fact he beat shooters total vote count in 2007 by more then 3000 votes (little more then the 500 votes ya keep hearing the mayor won by)

That, coupled with shooters legal problems, make me feel comfortable about 4 more years. Look forward to the push to November.

Thats the number of votes that were cast in the mayoral race that didn't have Tom's name on them.
That is less than half of Tom's total.

i wouldnt be surprised if ole george found an excuse to bow out of the election now that he knows hes gonna tarnish his media rep that he thinks he established 4 years ago.

from being the guy that lost by a few hundred votes...to being the guy on the wrong end of the biggest landslide in hammond since prohibition...not sure georges ego can take that.

My early guess would be McDermott wins by a 4-1 margin. 80 percent of the vote.
