| Didn't take long for Obama and his administration to show their true colors.... typical politicians. - Quote :
- Axelrod waffles on Obama no-middle-class-tax-hike vow
The White House seems to be retreating from President Barack Obama’s campaign promise that he would not raise taxes on families making less than $250,000.
Under persistent questioning from ABC’s George Stephanopoulos Sunday, Obama senior adviser David Axelrod declined to restate the vow and left open the possibility that the president might sign health care reform legislation that taxes high-cost, employer-provided insurance plans which some middle-class families currently receive tax free.
“The president had said in the past that he doesn't believe taxing health care benefits at any level is necessarily the best way to go here. He still believes that, but there are a number of formulations and we'll wait and see,” Axelrod said on ABC’s “This Week.” “The important thing at this point is to keep the process moving, to keep people at the table, to the keep the discussions going. We've gotten a long way down the road and we want to finish that journey.”
When Stephanopoulos asked why Obama hadn’t drawn a “line in the sand” over his tax pledge, Axelrod suggested that kind of ultimatum is at odds with the president’s effort to being a new tone to politics.
“One of the problems we've had in this town is that people draw lines in the sand and they stop talking to each other. And you don't get anything done. That's not the way the president approaches this,” the White House adviser said. |

| Numbers don't lie... - Quote :
- WASHINGTON (AFP) – Six months into his presidency, Barack Obama's honeymoon with the US public may be coming to an end, with a new poll Thursday showing a marked decline in his job approval numbers.
The survey conducted by CNN and Opinion Research Corporation put President Obama's overall job approval rating at 61 percent, down from February, when he had a 76 percent approval level.
Thirty-seven percent of respondents, who were polled between June 26 and June 28, said they disapprove of how the new US leader is doing his job.
Seventy percent said Obama is a "a strong and decisive leader," down from 80 percent in February, while just 53 percent said Obama has a "clear plan" for solving the nation's problems, down from 64 percent.
The telephone survey of 1,026 adults had a sampling error of plus or minus three percentage points. |

| ...and then, in Ohio, a state Nobama was counting on in the election, in 2008... - Quote :
- President Obama's approval rating in the swing-state of Ohio has dropped dramatically since his inauguration, according to a new poll.
A Quinnipiac University poll released this week shows the President currently has a 49 percent approval rating in the Buckeye State, down significantly from 62 percent approval in a survey in early May.
The 49 percent figure is significant because it is the lowest approval rating since he took office in January.
The issue for the Obama administration in Ohio is likely the economy.
"The economy in Ohio is as bad as anywhere in America. These numbers indicate that, for the first time, voters have decided that President Barack Obama bears some responsibility for their problems," said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. I don't know, Artie...Barry is going to catch GW Bush's numbers after one year, and then catch Jimmy Carter. (my personal prediction) |

I'm just shaking in my boots at 61% Oh,and don't get carried away by Ohio. Obama only won there with a shade over 51% of the vote. Now here's a pop quiz for you.....Name a Republican with national poll numbers better or even close to Obama's. I'll be waiting :bball: | |

See, I'm neither Republican or Democrat. But I an see why you are such a cheerleader for the Democratic Party. Without a Democratic President and Democratic Congress, you could lose your Socialist programs. And if that happened, you may have to go to work! Oh, you'd never stand for that. Keep laughing, you may lose your free ride anyway... |
