The Plan to Save America Empty
PostSubject: The Plan to Save America   The Plan to Save America Empty3/27/2009, 1:27 am

We need to borrow money in anticipation of future taxpayer donations so that we can lend it to the banks so that they can borrow it back to the taxpayer at a nice profit. Then, we need the government to determine whether a public business may continue to operate and whether bonuses issued to employees are approbate or not. Also we need to find a new reserve currency long term to replace the failing overtaxed dollar while in the mean time pretending to support the dollar. And then we need to regulate the crops and plants grown in your backyard and if deemed necessary tax them to protect the newly unionized farm workers and florists in their right to earn a tax paying living.

Man, who dreamed some of this stuff up? They must be on drugs if they think these are good ideas.

Save American from socialism! God help us.

Know what's funny? Arguably after all the discussions about the government's current willingness to nationalize things, banks and probably healthcare for example, we now have government making business decisions for GM & Chrysler. It tells them who to fire, tells them to sell divisions to a foreign owned company What a Face and what models to keep and which to shut down and there seems to be no slowing down of the trend. God help us! The government really has NO business ordering a private business around like that, nor should we have ever gotten into the bailout business.

Maybe we should rename GM the National Car Company, just to be more honest about it? Very Happy

That's odd. The edit feature is missing.

Well anyway I was just going to add this linky on the government ordering GM around.

I think I should be allowed to withhold paying my taxes until the government addresses the matter of it's deficit spending putting the country on the brink of bankruptcy. Also I require the Treasury Secretary to step down for deceptive government practices. Wink

So the government should just hand them money and not have any input as to what they do with it? Didn't we just go through that with the AIG bonuses?

It seems that a new model for capitalism has been created. Corporations have privatized their profits but force the tax payer to either pay for expensive environmental clean-ups or bail out their risky bets. How about trying a different approach?

And so how about the financial and auto bailout recipients that are sending campaign contributions (from the bailout money) to the very congressmen that whined about how insulting and illegal AIG was by handing out bonuses. Nobody says anything about that now, do they? Hypocrisy. Blame blame blame, blah blah blah.

Where is the public outcry for the President and members of Congress to return this corrupt blood money or turn it over to the people with a check to the Treasury anyway? Looks like Fox News is the only outlet willing to report it and the wingnuts are trying to discredit their voices.

Nationalizing banks and auto companies and the healthcare system is capitalism in what sense? Go back to school. There is little about these plans that resemble capitalism. They are indicative of a transition to socialism though.

I swear this administration is acting more and more like Nazi Germany. Remember the people's car? Remember massive debt and the destruction of the currency that led to socialism? Remember the calls for national unity, which in 2009 now seems to be a televised bi-monthly talk about another crisis in need of a massive bailout to somehow protect capitalism, which in truth is a form of socialism. The comparisons are there. Just wonder when we will get around to expelling the Jews or finding some other group to persecute like Christians or something.

Funny thing though. One of the few world leaders willing to publically raise the red flag, as it were, on Obama's plans is from the Chek republic and is all too well familiar with how one day the Russians rolled into town and took over. Meanwhile you know I don't think the Cuban government has had a bad thing to say about Obama unless I missed it in between the media's love fest segments for the guy.

Ford, GM to cover car payments if buyer loses job

DETROIT | Ford Motor Co. and General Motors Corp. are offering payment protection plans to help reassure consumers who may be putting off buying a new car because of worries about losing their job.

The offers come as auto sales have been battered by the recession and tight credit, reaching their lowest levels in 27 years.

Ford said Tuesday it will cover payments of up to $700 each month for up to a year on any new Ford, Lincoln or Mercury vehicle if consumers lose their jobs. The program runs until June 1.

Hours later, GM said it will make a similar offer. GM's new CEO, Fritz Henderson, said the company will make up to nine car payments of $500 each for customers who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own.

Customers must qualify for state unemployment to be eligible for the program. The program starts April 1 and runs until April 30.

Hyundai Motor Co. launched a program in January that allows buyers to return a vehicle within a year if they can't make the payments due to a job loss or disability. The company said the program helped it avoid a double-digit sales decline last month, reporting a 2 percent slide.

Dearborn, Mich.-based Ford is also offering zero percent financing on certain Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles.

"Consumers remain anxious about the economy and their own outlook for the future," Ken Czubay, vice president of sales and marketing, said in a statement.

The announcements come a day after President Barack Obama said the government will back new car warranties issued by GM and Chrysler LLC, who have accepted federal assistance and are seeking more, to help boost consumer confidence about buying their vehicles.

Ford has not requested federal bailout funds.

Ford also said it would partner with its dealers to introduce a program that would help local charities affected by the economic downturn.

Shares of Ford rose 2 cents to $2.78 in afternoon trading Tuesday, while GM shares dropped 54 cents, or 20 percent, to $2.16.

So let me see. We will monetize the debts, provide the warrantee backing, provide job loss payments protection for buyers, hire & fire executives, order divisions to be sold to foreigners or eliminated. How is this not nationalization of a private company? How American is Chrysler anyway? And how is this all fair to marketplace competitors who don't get all this assistance? More than that, is there the slightest chance in hell that the government will allow enough workers to be put out of work and wage reductions for those who remain to actually make the companies profitable in a competitive world? I wonder when Obama will order GM & Chrysler to merge into one big colossal mess?

I gotta tell you I am inclined to support Ford as long as they stay away from this Obama crap. Otherwise my business is going to good old American made Toyota.

Mirage, I watch the news, CNN, MMBC, anything in the wee hours in the a.m. Obama has 5 speach-writers, one guy on-board to play basketball with. His wife has 8 assistants....yet, they bailed these companies out...they're a joke. A complete, asinaine joke. They think they are still on the campaign trail.

You can have a grammaw on the job, but take it from me, it's still misery to be away from your kids. Grammaw doesn't take your place.

Going back to the subject...it made NO sense to me that they no sooner bailed out GM and then turned around right before Obama left for Queenie town, he announced that "he advised them to file for bankruptcy".

Something is "amiss" about this. They were donators to his presidency; think about that. Then, after giving out taxpayers' hand-outs, less then a day later, asks the CEO to "step aside". Right after that, "advises them to enter bankruptcy".

No different from the rest of the a-holes. Once a politician, always a politician. The least I can do is change a cop.
