Rolling right along the White Sox buried the Cubs last night 7-0 thus saving themselves from the embarrassment of getting swept by the worst team in baseball. Sox also ended up winning the Crosstown classic 4-2. Our record now stands at 6-(1*). cheers

Best fan sign seen at the game last night? "Friends don't let friends become Cubs fans" Smile

The NY Mets put an end a 2 game Cub winning streak by pounding out 16 hits, including a Grand Slam, slaughtering the Cubbies by a score of 17-1. Our record now stands at 7-(1*) cheers

What was truly amazing about this feat was that the Mets were able to overcome the presence of legendary 1st baseman Anthony Rizzo who the Cubs, their fans, and front man Tom Ricketts have been worshiping as if he were Lou Gehrig reincarnated ready to be enshrined in the Baseball Hall Of Fame. Shocked

To add insult to injury,Jeff Samajorda, who the Cubs have been touting as "untradeable" and acting like he was Cy Young and Sandy Koufax rolled into one, gave up 9 runs in 4 innings. Last 3 or 4 outings he's averaged something like a 12.00 ERA. I think the bloom is now officially off of that rose. Laughing

Last but least I would be remiss not to mention the most remarkable and nutty Cub fan moment of the year so far. affraid That insane exercise occurred Tuesday night when Anthony Rizzo stepped to the plate for the very first time and received a standing ovation by scores of delusional Cub fans before he had even swung at a pitch. Shocked Quite the vote of confidence for a guy who hit .141 over 49 games when the Padres brought him up last year. Rolling Eyes

Cub Fever....an illness best known for causing Chronic Delusions in it's victims. Smile

Sad to report that the current streak ended. Sad The Cubs managed to win 3 in a row at home against an Astros team that was 11 games under 500 ending the streak at 7-2 not counting the * game against San Diego where it was advised to sharply curtail the amount bet. Somewhat similar situation as their win against San Diego where they were up against a bad team but had a hot pitcher,Travis Wood, going in game 3.

So unfortunately that's that for the year.
