| with playoff hopes dwindling. who else here thinks lovey may have passed his usefullness.
With homlgren likely going to san fran next year...i say the bears need to go after singletary! you thought da coach was welcomed when he came in? imagine how the fans would love singletary as there coach! | |

| The Bears did better than I thought they would this year |

| I'm not ready to join the dump Smith bandwagon. He can only work with the tools the front office give him to work with. But that Homlgren loss is about as bad as the Bucs maybe losing Kippin to go coach with his son. |

| I don't see the Bears dumping Lovey yet.
Like I said, this season I expected the Bears to be Green Bay, and yet they are going to finish .500 or better, and they do have potential to do better next year if they actually try to get a decent to good quarterback. They have an awesome running back right now(until he holds out and demands more money that is), and if they can get a couple defense lineman, they could be really good next year |

| They do need another reciever, but right now they need to concentrate on the defense and QB first, because the defense is hit or miss, but QB, my god I think I can do better than Orton |

| agreed without a viable QB to throw deep luring a #1 wideout to the bears would be difficult |

| Are the Bears still the only team in the NFL to not have a legit 30 yr pass play yet?
By legit, I mean a pass that is in the air for over 30 yards, not a short pass and run after adds up to 30 yards |

| they have the play but orton cant hit it, if we could mix rexs ability to throw deep and ortons ability to hit the out route we might have something lol |

| Well to do that, we need a real QB A few weeks ago, I would have said Donovan McNabb would work, but it looks like he will be staying in Philly now. |

| after him the available crop is pretty slim in terms of a trade or a free agent |

| All I know is Orton is better than Grossman and thankfully the coaching staff finally woke up to the fact that Grossman doesn't cut the mustard. I do wish they would have played Hanie when Orton was hurt. I don't think putting the rookie in would have been worse than letting Grossman play. Who knows the kid could be the next Tom Brady? (fingers crossed). I like Manning as the kick returner over Hester- Hester just hasn't cut it this season for me. It seems like the guy is afraid to get hit? I dunno just my two cents... |

I dunno just my two cents... thats the norm for Chicago they hold out or threaten to, for more money, and then when they get the money, they no longer have the passion to play like they used to Look at Urlacher thats why I am afraid to see what Forte does this off season |

| I can't argue with you. It's a shame. Forte is awesome and I know it would break my son's heart if he didn't play up to his potential. Forte is my son's hero... |

| He went from earning $400,000/yr to earning $2+million a year, so now he wants to make sure he doesn't get injured so that when the contract is up, he can try and get big bucks from the Bears or someone else |

| I thought they'd be better off ditching Grossman, and keeping Griese... but I probably don't belong on this thread. lol | |

| It's gonna be interesting to see who will spring the big bucks for Tim Tebow as he's sure to make many a Tivo moment for whoever he winds up with. Actually I'm hoping the Bucs get him due to his Gator ties but the Bears couldn't go too wrong by springing for him and building an offense around him. |

| The Bears have a shot at Tebow, but he will not make it in the NFL
Tebow is the first Heisman winner to ever be projected to come out lower than 25th
They are saying he will be a very late 1st rd, or mid 2nd round pick |

| Well the Bears need to send a christmas gift to Atlanta for helping them out today.
If the Bears win tomorrow, they are tied for first again |

| The Bears need to win out to get into the playoffs, and have Minnesota lose Sunday against the Giants, which I think is a possibility even though the Giants clinched the #1 seed last night
All that is left is the NFC North, and 1 wildcard, which right now, and Dallas has that if they win Sunday against Philly |

| That is true Mark, but look what has happened in the NFL this year, anything is possible now
I did not expect Baltimore to beat Dallas, yet they did.
I sure as hell did not expect Miami to be in the playoff hunt, I did expect them to win maybe 5 to 6 games though
Same with the Falcons
Now the real shock came in the NFC West, which was atrocious this year |
