Todd Palin's half-sister arrested for burglary
Anchorage Daily News

Todd Palin’s half-sister was arrested Thursday after police say she broke into a Wasilla home for the second time this week to steal money.

Palin is the husband of Gov. Sarah Palin. He declined comment.

Diana Palin, 35, entered a home near Wasilla’s Multi-Use Sports Complex and attempted to steal cash from the owner’s bedroom, police said.

She also broke into the same house on Tuesday and stole $400, they said.

The name "Roger Clinton" comes to mind after reading this. He was the ner-do-well brother of President Clinton. Another one to mention is Obama's aunt, who has been here illegally for years, living off the public dole, and refusing to leave, even though she has been ordered to do so.

So, we got 2 examples of sitting presidents, who have/had family members who are not quite within the law, but yet a FORMER candidates sister-in-law is fair game, as is the rest of her family. How hypocritical.

Well, unless your boy does something, anything, she may be a viable candidate.

If only walls could post what they hear in every household across America...this would be the ant in a landfill.

Who cares about crap like that?

It's NO reflection on Palin. I think she runs Alaska better than the rest of the states combined.

It depends on the context. I don't think any rational person attaches Messiah-like qualities to political figures. When you make the claim that another poster views Obama as the Messiah, it is showing a lack of respect to that poster's opinion. It seems to me that much of what you post is done to cause conflict rather than to discuss issues.

Really? Where is your link to back up your blanket statement regarding Obama voters? Is this just another in your series of incoherent posts?

If the whole ‘Messiah’ thing really bothers you, sparks, I can always begin referring to Him as He-Who-Deigns-To-Walk-Among-Mere-Mortals.
Would you prefer that?

You title this topic Wasilla Hillbilly Report. Tell me, ever been to Wasilla? I have. Ever been to Alaska? I have. You know, unless you have experienced something, you should keep your opinions to yourself. Or do you base your opinions on what you read in the line at the supermarket? Those people have a hard life, and don't get all of the Federal money you would expect them to. The total population for the entire state is just over half a million people. Lighten up. You'd probably be more credible if you concentrated your efforts toward Gary.

Let's see.....a half sister that gets arrested for burglery,a 17 child who got knocked up by a kid whose mother got arrested by the state police for something to do with drugs. This is like a trailer trash reality show.

All Gary residents don't get a 2069.00 check for just living in the state of Indiana, like Alaskans do for living in Alaska.

The check (total varies from year to year) comes from the oil companies NOT the Alaskan government. Again, if you'd ever been there you'd know that, not just assume that the State sends it. Your turn.

If it was just from the oil companies then why did they need a constitutional amendment? If the permanent fund isn't an example of "wealth redistribution" and socialism,I don't what is.

Quote :
The Alaska Permanent Fund is a constitutionally established permanent fund, managed by a semi-independent corporation, established by Alaska in 1976, primarily by the efforts of then Governor Jay Hammond. Shortly after the oil from Alaska’s North Slope began flowing to market through the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System, the Permanent Fund was created by an amendment to the Alaska Constitution to be an investment for at least 25% of proceeds from some minerals (such as oil and gas) sale or royalties. The Fund does not include either property taxes on oil company property nor income tax from oil corporations, so the minimum 25% deposit is closer to 11% if those sources were also considered.

Nothing. That's the same word I would use to describe what your statement has to do with the topic.

Blind arrogance? I don't think so.

Diana Palin indicted on break-in charges, pleads not guilty
(04/13/09 11:05:47)

WASILLA - A Palmer grand jury has indicted Diana Palin on burglary, theft and trespass charges related to three break-ins at a Wasilla home.

Palin, 35, is the half-sister of Todd Palin, Gov. Sarah Palin's husband.

Jailed at Mat-Su Pretrial Facility since Wasilla police arrested her April 2, Palin pleaded not guilty during a brief appearance in Palmer Superior Court this morning.

Police say she broke into a home on West Mill Site Circle owned by Theodore Turcott to steal cash. Turcott told investigators he'd lost nearly $2,600 in two prior burglaries, so when he saw an unfamiliar car pull into his driveway, he waited in a bathroom for Palin and confronted her after she headed straight for a cabinet where he kept his money, according to a police affidavit filed by Officer Jentry Crain. Palin's 4-year-old daughter came into the home as her mother was being detained by Turcott, who was armed, police and prosecutors say.

On April 2, police arrested Palin for that day's break-in and also for a burglary March 31 in which nearly $400 was taken from Turcott's home.

The grand jury on Friday indicted Palin for those break-ins, and also for one March 26 in which $2,200 was stolen, according to court documents.
http://www.adn.com/news/alaska/crime/story/758162.html
Turcott's home, near Wasilla's Multi-Use Sports Complex, is about eight miles from the house Palin shares with her husband and two young children near Mat-Su College. Police haven't disclosed any reason she picked Turcott's address.

Others have routinely and mistakenly claimed that I was concerned about this idiot. Never was and never will be. The GOP is going
to be the one that goes after her and sinks her once and for all. This is just the first shot. I will though,as I have been all along,be enjoying the train wreck....

Article from Vanity Fair..
"It Came from Wasilla"
Quote :

As Palin has piled misstep on top of misstep, the senior members of McCain’s campaign team have undergone a painful odyssey of their own. In recent rounds of long conversations, most made it clear that they suffer a kind of survivor’s guilt: they can’t quite believe that for two frantic months last fall, caught in a Bermuda Triangle of a campaign, they worked their tails off to try to elect as vice president of the United States someone who, by mid-October, they believed for certain was nowhere near ready for the job, and might never be. They quietly ponder the nightmare they lived through. Do they ever ask, What were we thinking? “Oh, yeah, oh, yeah,” one longtime McCain friend told me with a rueful chuckle. “You nailed it.”

No, you're not concerned with Sarah Palin. Every time she (or a family member) makes the news, POW, you are the first one to slam her. I think you are obsessed with the fact that she could whip Nobama's ass. Otherwise you'd let it slide...

If she could "whip Obama",then why did the poll numbers for Obama show an increase after she was chosen as McCain's running mate?

Palin is comedy gold, pure and simple. The thing is that when she does make the news it's always about something she or one of her family members screwed up,or some sort of juvenile public fight that she plays out in the media. It's never about an actual issue or an accomplishment.

It's a shame Letterman is off this week Sad

Newspaper columnists give Palin dubious 'Sitting Duck Award' for most ridiculed newsmaker
Associated Press

JUNEAU, Alaska - The National Society of Newspaper Columnists chose Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as the winner of its annual Sitting Duck Award, a tongue-in-cheek honor that pokes fun at the most ridiculed newsmakers in the United States.

Palin beat out Democrat Rod Blagojevich, the ousted former governor of Illinois allegedly caught trying to sell President Barack Obama's Senate seat.

Blagojevich was the runner-up. Palin was noted for making headline after headline, month after month.

The selection was made last week at a conference in Ventura, Calif.

There's no physical award to go with the Sitting Duck title.

Palin resigning as Alaska governor on July 26

Suspect

Via Think Progress:

Quote :
MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell reports:

"Talking to people who are very close to Sarah Palin, I have been told that she has told her supporters that she is out of politics, period. She is fed up with politics. She doesn’t like her life. She feels like she has to raise her family. She’s sick of the commute from Wasilla to the capital and she really does not want to run for higher office. This is not the case where she is stepping down in order to figure the way for a presidential run. In fact, she has told some of her biggest backers in the national Republican Party that they are free to choose other candidates for 2012."
