In a seething letter sent to the fashion magazine, fellow officer James Smith called the shared recognition to the transgender reality star a "publicity stunt" and insulting to his wife's memory. "I find it insulting to Moira Smith's memory, and the memory of other heroic women who have earned this award. Was there no woman in America, or the rest of the world, more deserving than this man?" he wrote to Editor-in-Chief Cindi Leive, while sharing a copy on his Facebook page Thursday. The beloved wife and mother died at the age of 38 after courageously rushing into the south tower during the 2001 terrorist attacks in lower Manhattan. She was posthumously recognized by Glamour that same year. "People who survived the World Trade Center attacks will tell you they remember Moira, a beacon of calm in the chaos, leading the injured to care," former New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said during the dedication of a Madison Square Park’s playground to her in 2002. "Each time she left to help someone, she went back in -- no doubt, she saved hundreds on Sept. 11." Meanwhile, Jenner was recognized last week with the magazine's Transgender Champion award for her monumental courage in publicly stepping out as a transgender woman.
……… You can hardly blame this guy - a well-deserved award for his late wife became worthless overnight. He now knows, better than most, how previous Nobel Prize recipients felt after that award was given to Barry.

You Don't Care Who Won a Glamour Award, You're Just a Transphobic Bigot - Quote :
- First of all, let's be clear that Caitlyn Jenner did not win "the" Woman of the Year award, in fact, she was one of dozens of honorees this year with a variety of achievements and backgrounds. In the 25 years Glamour has given the awards, Caitlyn joins a list of 397 previous honorees.
It seems that most of those criticizing her receiving the honor likely have never heard of the Glamour awards, or cared, until Caitlyn joined the list. This is apparent and obvious, considering that many feel the honor should have been granted to someone more worthy. Unless, by someone more worthy, they mean people like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Victoria Beckham, Beyonce, Lily Allen, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift or even Kim Kardashian -- all of whom have received a Woman of the Year award by Glamour without controversy or care.
The only difference between other celebrity recipients of the award and Caitlyn is that they were all cis-gender (except for Laverne Cox, who was honored in 2014, making Cailtyn the second trans recipient). Let's be honest, people aren't concerned with who actually deserved the honor, they are clearly outraged by the fact that a trans woman grabbed the spotlight. I think either Spears or Caitlyn's daughter ruined it first.

Another difference between 'Caitlyn' and the other recipients is that the other recipients, whether or not you care for their artistic or other various contributions (which I, for the most part, do not), actually did something other than to merely say, "I am a woman." Oh, and also, they were actually women.

I thought about that, but if I did, how would I know what to wear? I'm sure some of these could help you out. http://www.magazinesusa.com/womens+interest+magazines.asp
