| http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/03/30/current-tv-dismisses-keith-olbermann/March 30, 2012, 4:48 pm Current TV Dismisses Keith OlbermannBy BRIAN STELTER 6:00 p.m. | Updated Current TV said Friday afternoon that it had terminated the contract of its lead anchor, Keith Olbermann, scarcely a year after he was hired to reboot the fledgling channel in his progressive political image. The cable channel indicated that he had failed to honor the terms of his five-year, $50 million contract, giving the channel the right to terminate it. I told Keith over and over and over again not to sign that contract until the Don’t Be An Insufferable Raging Dick clause was removed. But did he listen? Noooo. And look where it got him. | |

| http://www.talkentertainment.com/Roger Ailes: "You talk about burning bridges. This guy really burns ‘em. Now, I feel sorry for anybody who’s out of work, so I don’t want to trash him or say anything negative about him. He was great at sports, I thought. And everybody has some redeeming quality, so people find a job again. But it’ll be, you know. A pet show in St. Louis, or something." | |

Not too many pet shows draw close to 3 million viewers every week. Looks like Keith Olbermann's career is far from over... Keith Olbermann On 'This Week': Former Current TV Host To Sit On Roundtable Keith Olbermann will sit in on the political roundtable on ABC News' "This Week With George Stephanopoulos" on Sunday. The program announced the news via Twitter on Thursday. It will be Olbermann's first television appearance to talk politics since his explosive departure from Current TV in March. He will be joined by George Will, Donna Brazile, Matt Dowd and Peggy Noonan on Sunday. | |

| Apparently I was mistaken when I included the words 'nobody notices' in the title of this thread. Keith's biggest and most like-minded fan seems to be quite bereft.http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/may/03/al-quaida-cunning-methods-us-newsA US-born al-Qaida spokesman, Adam Gadahn, wrote back to Bin Laden laying the merits or otherwise of using US news stations to mark the "Manhattan battle" as it is referred to in the memo. Fox News is dismissed because it "falls into the abyss as you know, and lacks neutrality too". "I used to think that MSNBC channel may be good and neutral a bit, but is has lately fired two of the most famous journalists – Keith Olbermann and Octavia Nasser the Lebanese," wrote Gadahn. In fact, Nasser was sacked from CNN after she sent a tweet mourning the death of a Hezbollah leader. Olbermann was dismissed for making financial donations to Democratic party politicians. | |
