| The Times agrees with you. Unfortunately, they also like Cost-us in Valpo. | |

| You know you were in a bad place when you advertise rent with the option to buy and they call back and say "Hey, I pay $1,200.00 a month, I wanna see your house". Upon learning you don't lease to Section 8, they use the worst language in the world.
The don't read English, know English..but are NOT foreignors, and use STREET LANGUAGE. Typical. Except I can't expect you to clean as you go, or do the lawn.
Thanks JCMT, you just destroyed my rental prospects...and I wouldn't think anyone would be stupid enough except we do know and have responsible renters...they do work, we socialize.
Since you posted, you flucked up the rental world.
And cops, you ran a responsible HOMEOWNER out of town because she sleeps with her hearing aid out, and you had to lie like the KKK to get out of something you aren't gonna get out of. You guys are STUCK. I'm not, never was. Never burned my bridges. You obviously have bridges you can't burn. The FEDs will advise you eventually. You do me wrong...I'll do you back. Not revenge..RIGHTS!!! And I hate lying SOBs.

ALL YOU KNOW IS NOW. When things backfire in the future, I want to hear you praise a better place. And you know what Steve, you're being USED.

| You can tout all you want. After extensive advertising..I can't find anyone outside the ghetto I can trust to rent out the house where I fled because even the police shit on me.
No matter what they say, they can argue with my family. It simply was not safe for years, though I tried and fought it in conjunction with neighborhood crime watch leaders, the cops, they all freggin'' ignored me.
They are nuts staying there cuz they never lived anywhere else. I stepped forward, no matter how you try and dress up a depressed atmosphere and cops are not trained up to date on matters.
Bitter? Hell yeah. Had I done my homework, I wouldn't had stuck 26,000 in a 20,000 dollar home.
Never felt safe even if cops responded. They stood up for the gangs. Every time.

| all i can say is i am pretty happy here. are things perfect? hell no but ive yet to find anyone that thinks everything is perfect.
ive lived within hammond or within a mile of the hammond city border my entire 42 years
compared to 8 years ago...when hammond was struggling to survive. and 25 years ago when hammond was dieing. today hammond is going through a second youth. growing in fits and starts. but consistantly moving forward, improving day to day year to year. anyone thats been here for that entire time cant help but see that.
sure there are trouble spots. but were working on fixing those as well. overall the city is by far the most improved of any in the region in this past decade, bar none.
and if ya cant see it your either not looking for it or intentionally blind to it

| heard a wild report today of something relatively small in actual investment but absolutely beyond the pale huge as far as hammonds image goes. because i know if i come forward with it right now the nabobs would have a field day dismissing it as electioneering , and i wouldnt be able to prove them wrong before next tuesday. ill hold off on it till then.
but remind me wednesday folks. this one will really blow you away. but something really cool is coming to hammond.
one hint. its akin to a rural county getting a fast food chain to finally build there.

| As far as I am concerned, I hope Mayor McDermott is here for many years to come. He is doing a great job and we will see amazing things in Hammond if we continue to re-elect him. McDermott 2011 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | |

| first off please recognize these pieces of information are not coming from official sources...but they are coming from what i consider pretty good sources (the guys building the thing). the city of hammond has virtually no input at what goes into woodmar...except that it can prohibit any business requiring special liscenses to sell (liquor, explosives, etc)
all hammond can do is to create an environment, that will hopefully lure quality establishments to the private developement project.
ok now that it cant be misconstrued as a pre election stunt ill announce....
the rumor out of the markoplis, pradeum development camp (woodmar) is besides completing the first before, and building the second outlot in the spring, at least three food establishments are coming
the first one no big deal...another subway. doesnt make sense to me as walmart 300 yds away has one inside...but i guess this is directed for more the subway specific diners then the walmart i dont feel like cooking tonight customers. and for those of you that know me i am not ever gonna be against another quick bite option.
the second is interesting as its brand new to anywhere north of 1 94 panda express.
and finally the third one not my particular cup of tea but......
the mayors dreams are finally coming true. Hammond is getting a starbucks!!!! (think of it as an early christmas present from pradeum)
also...wont be announced till next year...but look for sizzler...yeah they are coming back...to announce a hammond location in the spring.
on the downside olive garden previously rumored to be considering the river park complex...has decided to build in schererville instead (more incentives offerred by the town im told)

| It's best to keep developments under wraps until they're signed, sealed, and delivered. I'm sure surrounding towns and neighboring cities would love for those chains to open there. Hopefully your loose lips don't sink hammonds ship... | |
