Nah, he's hanging out with Elvis at our Muslim Socialist President's true birthplace, The Mosque on the Moon. They're planning America's demise. Tell no one!

| Good job by all who were involved. But can we really be sure that he didn't die in Kenya? | |

| Does anyone know anything about the $25 million bounty? It really should be split up amongst the Navy SEALs. | |

I don't think they're eligible to receive it. Besides, the right would probably have a fit about increasing the deficit.

| It's a welcome thought to know the last thing he saw, was a Navy Seals' gun barrel. | |

| It really doesn't matter what the conspiracy theorists think; even if a photo was produced they would think is was photo-shopped...here is what a repub thinks about releasing the photo:House Intelligence Chair Mike Rogers: Releasing Bin Laden Photo Is A Dangerously Bad Idea - Quote :
- A key Republican lawmaker has come out strongly against releasing photos of Osama BIn Laden's bullet-riddled corpse.
- Quote :
- "I don't want to make the job of our troops serving in places like Iraq and Afghanistan any harder than it already is," Rogers said. "The risks of release outweigh the benefits. Conspiracy theorists around the world will just claim the photos are doctored anyway.

| There's no reason to release it; certainly not for the public's morbid curiosity.
But I really don't understand the conspiracy. At all. Do they really think the President would greenlight a military operation whose effect could easily be dispelled by a video/photo of Osama laughing hysterically holding a paper announcing his death? That would do significant damage to America's credibility, setting us back years...
Like most conspiracy theories, it just doesn't make sense. This one's almost as ridiculous as the theory that Bush brought down the Towers to invade Iraq. Almost.

But I really don't understand the conspiracy. At all. Seriously? In the warped minds of the 15 percenters, every single thing Obama does is suspect. Either it's illegitimate,a fraud,a lie,or proof positive that he's "not one of us". They cannot and will never be convinced otherwise because that would mean they would have to let go of their hate.

Well I guess there are certain individuals (including at least one looney who posts here occasionally) who think that he was already dead. But even then, the number of people that would need to be involved in a leakproof cover-up of that magnitude is staggering. - Heretic wrote:

Some people don't want to acknowledge anything that casts their political opponents in a positive light. Conspiracy theories will be with us as long as there is money to be made by people who exploit the ignorance and political prejudices of others. It's incredible to me that there is also a segment of the population who insist that President Bush deserves all the credit for the elimination of Bin Laden, and President Obama deserves no credit at all. That is just ludicrous to me. Barack took an enormous risk by taking out Bin Laden deep inside Pakistan, and he deserves a great deal of credit for taking that risk. If the mission had failed, Obama would have been blamed, just as Clinton was blamed for the "Black Hawk Down" debacle in Somalia, and Carter was blamed for the failed rescue mission in Iraq. IMHO, if you're willing to take the blame for failure, then you deserve the credit for success. Back when Barack was campaigning, he got a lot of criticism, and was accused of being "naive" by his political opponents during the primary season and the general election for saying the following... From the "town hall" debate on October 7, 2008. - Quote :
- "And if we have Osama bin Laden in our sights and the Pakistani government is unable or unwilling to take them out, then I think that we have to act and we will take them out. We will kill bin Laden; we will crush Al Qaeda. That has to be our biggest national security priority."
Yet another campaign promise kept! Of course, our Special Forces are the real heroes in all of this, but they would still be heroes no matter how this mission went down. It's awesome that they were able to pull this highly risky operation off without the loss of a single American life.

Unconfirmed word around Washington is that Joe Biden's plan to flush out bin-Laden using the old flaming-bag-full-of-dog-crap-on-the-front-porch trick was the key to the mission's success.

Good for him! That should make it clear to everyone what a great choice Obama made when he chose Joe as his VP.
