No, I don't either...

Quote :
Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI) has introduced a little-noticed bill that intends to once again renew controversial provisions of the Bush administration's USA Patriot Act that are due to expire this year.

When the act was first signed into law, Congress put in some "sunset" provisions to quiet the concerns of civil libertarians, but they were ignored by successive extensions. Unfortunately, those concerns proved to be well founded, and a 2008 Justice Department report confirmed that the FBI regularly abused their ability to obtain personal records of Americans without a warrant.

Thanks for being Republican puppets, you retarded f**kwits!

Heretic, haven't you figured out by now, R and D doesn't make a difference.

Lying runs in their race to the White House. Our country is doomed.

You can't believe any politician.

As far as the "The TEA Party"...they did try to make a difference.

You can't when Demos and Repos lie to your faces before election and change course afterwards.

Wouldn't surprise me if people quit voting cuz it's almost Communists running our country. They lie to get elected, all parties.

Look at Quinn, the gov from IL promising he wouldn't approve more than a 1 percent increase in income taxes..Once in office he blew his word/promise.

What cracks me up are the comments left behind who didn't vote for Quinn.

Such as, you voted, "hope you hate yourself for voting this idiot in!"

Fact is, voters vote based on the theory politicians will keep their word. Once in office, the voters get blamed for being deceived. They voted because they trusted the idiot would keep his word.

Is there any honest politicians out there? You know, the ones who campaigned and kept their "word"?

We're duped.

Has Rogers spoken out against the practice? Do you actually care about "earmarks?" IMHO, they are such an insignificant portion of the federal budget that opposition to them by politicians is nothing more than a political gimmick.

Besides, in many cases, earmarked funds are very important to the development of local communities.

Why don't you tell us how you really feel?

But seriously, I can't see the House Republicans rolling back any of the provisions of the Patriot Act. It sucks, but another renewal is probably inevitable. It's going to take some sustained, grass roots opposition to persuade Congress to change it.

I agree that it is pretty damned ironic that those who rail against "big government" have no problem at all supporting this atrocity.
