Watching the news, reading the news...most said that Emanual has the money, but doesn't have the "backing" as one guy said while being interviewed.
I think Sheriff Dart would be the guy to go for. I just hope for the sake of a fair election, people base their vote on someone they know that will turn things around, and keep the voters' concerns in mind, and quit the corruptions.
I sort of wasn't surprised that Daley announced it, with little time before the deadline to file...sorta relieves the cartoons they have on t.v. promising this or that.
I always wondered why a politician would want to work until death do they part (the political job, or any job) at past 65 yrs. old. What good does the money do you when you have an average of "x" amount of years left in old age to enjoy life?
I think Daley's just tired. Everything he touched lately turned to shitz. The educational thing, the killings, the budget, etc. I think he thought time with family was long-overdue.
And, he gave it all he had, and though there was corruption, he may as well have gone as he did. Why waste life?
Corruption probably will always exist; his time with his wife may be limited, and he just looks haggard.
Time to pass the torch.
It'll be interesting to see who takes his place. I just hope people don't vote on skin color, nationality or country of origin - but on trust and ethics, leadership, values, and a big fat "I PROMISE TRANSPARENCY".
Then again, I really don't care. I don't go to Chicago, and WON'T go, unless I have to pick up my daughter.
So, it doesn't really matter anymore.
