| San Diego squeaked into the playoffs with an 8-8 record, and thus because they won their division, they are the #4 seed(lowest of the division winners) and they host the #5 team the 12-4 Indianapolis Colts, who had a way better record than the Chargers.
Over on the ESPN boards, people are going apeshit over an 8-8 team hosting a playoff game, where I am in the minority in saying that San Diego got to host the game, because they did win their division, where as Indy did not.
Of course another complaint is that an 11 win AFC team is sitting at home as well(New England), but honestly, they did not win 1 more game than they needed to. So again its their own fault as well
How does everyone else feel about this? |

Thats what I was saying but people are really worked up over this on the ESPN boards lol I swear, some of those people scare me as much as that dork in that verizon commercial who is riding on a horse with a hot blonde sitting behind him and he is concerned with hi sfantasy team instead of the hot blonde |

| New England needed to win just one more game
If they had not blown that game against Miami, Miami would be sitting at home right now |

| they won thier division. lousy as it is, thats the rules, win your division host a home game.
yeah 8-8 isnt impressive. but the funny thing is its the longest win streak of any of the playoff teams. one could argue they are the hottest team heading into the playoffs.

You are right the D seemed to lose their composure on that last drive with two dumb penalties to put San Diego in a position to win. It was a great game to watch though San Diego just seems to have Indys number lately. I said before the game the winner of this game will go to the Super Bowl we shall see.

| That sack towards the end of regulation killed the Colts
Of course now people are calling for OT rules to be overhauled to allow both teams the chance at the ball.
I say this, I have never liked the sudden death rules of OT in the NFL, but its also always been that way, so why change it? |

| the college rules arent any better. honestly. an overtime game is a coin flip proposition. but both teams had a chance to win in regulation as well, so the rules really dont matter.
if a team doesnt like the risk of overtime, they have only themselves to blame for being in the overtime in the first place.

| The issue I have with College OT is that they start in field goal range already, instead of having a kickoff to start the OT.
Boy has it been a riot listening to Mike and Mike this morning, they are going off on the officials for the Colts loss(bit they did say the better team won) |
