Rick Perry makes high-profile call for prayer as he weighs White House run



I thought separation of religion/state was in the U.S. Constitution.

Who's this Perry guy, running as a religious fanatic, GOP, (I don't care what party), calling out prayers?

Another fake political tactic to garner bible-thumpers as the majority of voters for this prophet.

When will these potential candidates realize we have heard enough "hope, dreams and change," only to be sickened by another idiot, injecting "Prayer" as in "RELIGION" (faith, hope and charity) in his campaign hootin' and tootin'.


Try another phoney, cheap shot. This guy can't be for real. Personal ideas and practices, homeosexuality, same-sex marriage, abortions. Who gives a ratz azz?

Those are so "yesterday" that if they don't start tackling more important issues with A WRITTEN PLAN, signed, and held as a contract binding to their "promises" pertaining to their platform, begging for your vote..to be fulfilled once elected, until then, they'll say anything, do anything...and remain full of shit.

Repo, Demo, Independent, Sunshine-Tea Parties, you name it.

If it sounds too good to be true, don't vote for them.

That is, if you learned your lesson from the last one who promised "change" during his campaign...and until recently, was quoted as saying, "I didn't say when!!!" (Obambie).

Getting sick of these unqualified azzholes. All of them. Who's to believe anymore? It can't get anyworse, and your vote means shitz...money does the voting and hiring.

Congress rules the roost. You don't need any brains in the White Dome...too many political hacks gauranteed to cover your azz once POTUS. Hold the candiditate in writing (A CONTRACT) holding them for any b.s. they want to throw out there begging for your vote. Get rid of the damn budling donations.

Pissed off? Yeah...you all are sleeping and I get on the computer read all the b.s. and get pissed off before you even get up and read the news.

My opinion:
Praying is a personal, private matter; it doesn't change the course of events, no matter what the Bible Thumpers preach. Rev. Munsy of that huge, mega-church comes to mind...presenting politics in his sermon, also stating the need to contribute to others less fortunate, but forgetting his fancy white shoes, fancy white suit, his arriving in a fancy white limosine along with his wife, doned in jewels. That told me who he was. A USER.

I have 2 Reverend cousins. One female Reverend who studied, and earned the title. She lives in MO. No way would impose her beliefs on the parishioners to think like her. No way would she use her beliefs to influence someone in any political manner. She lives modestly, the same small home they purchased years ago. She volunteers for the less fortunate, and children are her priority. All donations go toward outreach programs, and every penny is accounted for. She does not receive any money from the parish. It is not a Catholic Church...some other kind of church.

On the other hand, I have her brother-in-law, Gary, a long-time bible thumper who turned religious many years before the other one, and relies on his fellow parishoners to finance his private life. That one lives in Arkansas.

After his mom's funeral in MO, his wife said:
"If not for the generosity of our fellow brother(s) and sister(s) from our church gathering up the money we needed to make this long trek, we would not have been able to attend her (my aunt's) funeral." (Users!)

Shortly after, his father (my uncle) passed away. It was in the Will that "Gary" had been extended a loan in the amount of "x" dollars. It was to be deducted from his portion of the Will.

Bible Thumper Preacher/Rev. Gary told his two surviving siblings..."He's gone now, so I don't owe anything, so is that ok?" Sure it was wrong, but they let it slide. Point is, even if it's your own relative, and a so-called bible-thumper, that's just wrong, and plain-out stealing. No conscious, no ethics. A fine example of those that use religion for self-gain.

So you have the users and those that really do not force their religious beliefs on others, especially mixing political/religious beliefs on others. It, to me, is disgusting and makes me feel very distrustful towards that person.

This sums up my feelings from the article:

Critics condemned the event for excluding non-Christian faiths and blurring the boundary between church and state, as well as affiliating with controversial fringe religious groups and leaders.
"Governor Perry achieved his goal today -- he drove almost every religious right leader and group into his corral," said Reverend Barry Lynn, executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State.


The event was named "The Response" and billed as a day of prayer for a nation in crisis. It also gave Perry a national platform to sharpen his appeal to religious conservatives who play a big role in the Republican nominating race and have been unhappy with the current crop of contenders.

Remember, I hold no "Republican, Democrat, Indepent" party as a preference. (Wait, that makes me "Independent"! LOL)

I analyze and study the CHARACTER, MORALS, ETC., OF THE PERSON running for an elected office. Not what "party" they are representing.

This Perry guy is a fraud. That is strictly my opinion. He's USING people. :usa:
