| I would like to devote this thread to callers who in to WJOB in the morning. Yesterday, Vera did a great job discussing the reasons why we need health care reform with "Joe", who is a frequent caller to WJOB. Joe is opposed to health care reform, because he doesn't want "more" government involvement in healthcare. Vera pointed out the fact that she cannot buy healthcare privately because her son has a pre-existing condition. There are millions of Americans in the same situation who have jobs but are unable to afford private healthcare if they can even find an insurance company willing to insure them. I really have a problem with people like Joe who have healthcare devoting their time and energy to protest other Americans receiving healthcare. It's simply not moral behavior. We are the richest country in the world and we have the resources to provide basic, affordable health insurance to all Americans. When did the political atmosphere in this country become so toxic that we aren't willing show any compassion for our fellow Americans?Sickness should no longer be a source of profit for private insurance companies. Anyway, Vera clearly had a more stronger, more persuasive argument than Joe did. | |

So, is this thread about calling into WJOB, or healthcare? Confusing.

You're talking about "Joe from Highland",right? Yesterday on the Creature's show he called in and explained where he goes for his news. It was literally a who's who of wingnut crazies and I may have forgotten others he mentioned... Fox News Rush Limbaugh Glenn Beck Shaun Hannity Michael Savage Mark Levin How can anyone take Joe seriously when he freely admits that he only gets his news from these sources?

| On today's show, a caller was made to look pretty bad. "Marsha" called up railing against a plan by the RDA to build an amphitheater at Wolf Lake, claiming that the public hasn't been able to find any information about this project. After "Marsha" hung up, the next caller reamed her, basically calling her a crank who is completely negative about any plans to improve Hammond or Lake county. After that caller, the Hammond city attorney Chris Kantar called and said this project has been in the works for years, with multiple public hearings held about the proposal. She said Marsha was just to lazy to attend the meetings, preferring to use the phone to share her ignorance. | |

The batting average on her nonsensical allegations stays intact. .000
